Translating God serves as an inspirational guide book that puts God's great love back into prophetic ministry as a primary goal full of real life stories that articulate the culture of love behind God's heart for the prophetic. So much of the prophetic ministry is esoteric, but this book brings balance without taking away the desire to see the powerful nature of God displayed. On top of that, it's biblically based and is supported by scripture throughout each story.

Having worked for a handful of prophetic ministries, I appreciate the wisdom Translating God offers. This is my absolute FAVORITE book on the prophetic. Shawn covers the basics of operating in the gift of prophecy while growing in hearing/recognizing God's voice. This is the best place to start if you want to encourage others in the 1 Corinthians 14 method of prophecy.

Reminds me so much of John Wimber's statement: Everybody gets to play.

Catch a glimpse into the Civil War era in this dramatic romance and gain a bit of perspective into the war, lifestyle and gentry.

Written almost as an historic novel, it is insightful in revealing the culture of that age that was built upon the backs of slave labor and those fighting to keep the cast system of impoverishment in the South. The narration is fantastic and admirably capturing the dialect, accents and personalities with clarity and interest.

Creativity, Inc. is a book for managers who want to lead their employees to new heights, a manual for anyone who strives for originality, and the first-ever, all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and "Braintrust" sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about how to build a creative culture - but it is also, as Pixar co-founder and president Ed Catmull writes, "an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible."

As a creative, this book was encouraging and eye-opening in more ways than one...

It helped with perspective on things I’ve been struggling with: the birth and death of ideas, perseverance through that pain, and developing a team in pursuit of balance, not perfection.

Interesting plus in hearing the backstories of many things Pixar, Disney and Steve Jobs related.

Highly recommended for creatives and team leaders.

Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

BIG FAN of Brené!

However, I would not have bought Daring Greatly had I known that the Talks on Vulnerability would be almost identical. I know this because I listened to them back-to-back.

So, I LOVED this but recommend picking one or the other. Otherwise, you'll have two of the near-same product.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.
