On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

On a hot June day the body of a 16-year-old girl washes up on a river bank outside of Frankfurt. She has been brutally murdered, but no one comes forward with any information as to her identity. Even weeks later, the local police have not been able to identify her. Then a new case comes in: a popular television reporter is attacked, raped, and locked in the trunk of her own car. She survives - barely - and is able to supply certain hints to the police having to do with her recent investigations into a child welfare organization and the potential uncovering of a child pornography ring with members from the highest echelon of society.

What made the experience of listening to Left to Die the most enjoyable?

The mood, the tone, the struggle of a working Mom and a troubled teen. The double story.

What did you like best about this story?

I did not know who to trust, it kept me on the edge. I personally loved the narrator he was outdoors woodsy and did not have a squeaky voice. When the book ended I nearly freaked, I did not know it was a two part. Cannot wait to listen to the second part.

Which character – as performed by Alan Nebelthau – was your favorite?

With out a doubt Mc Gregor

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Regan's fight for her children. I also liked the musings of the Serial Killer.

Any additional comments?

Lisa Jackson has a very easy flowing style of writing. I found everything very real.

If you could sum up The Wolfe in three words, what would they be?

Gripping, informative,complete

What did you like best about this story?

The characters and the journey

What does Guy Veryzer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This was my first audio book and I am totally captivated, I never thought that one person can be so many characters and with such fluency. I did not skip a word and I read the book before I listened t the audio, I thought it would be like reading a book and then seeing the film and you see totally different characters and fell disappointed, not in this case. It was perfect.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

For that amount of hours, I am 58 and I do sleep, I read at home and listen to audio at work. I am lucky that I can multitask and I work in an environment that is specialised and I don't have to converse with people unless in a meeting. It took me about a week of work to listen to.

Any additional comments?

I love the author of this book and since The Wolf there might be about 10 I have not either listened to or read. It really opened an entire new Genre for me. and I firmly believe that it is the Narrators of the books that enhance your reading as with "The Dark Lord" I cannot wait fort the second of The Titans to be published.
