Georgia Chambers has spent her life sifting through other people's pasts while trying to forget her own. But then her work as an expert on fine china - especially Limoges - requires her to return to the one place she swore she'd never revisit. It's been 13 years since Georgia left her family home on the coast of Florida, and nothing much has changed except that there are fewer oysters and more tourists.

What disappointed you about Flight Patterns?

Very redundant. Same material covered over and over again, day after day in the story line. Things were actually repeated in case you forgot what had happened earlier. Unlikable characters, boring subject matter. The book is also written at a very elementary level.

Would you ever listen to anything by Karen White again?

No. Nor would I read anything she has written. In fairness, she may appeal to some readers, particularly for bedtime reading.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Yes. I actually put the book on 1.25 speed to try to get through it. When have you ever done this? I got 70% of the way through, then gave up.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, there was just a little suspense as you wondered what happened so long ago to tarnish the relationship between the sisters,

Where does Missoula rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top this year.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Missoula?

There's anguish throughout--the sexual molestation, the court room, the tragic impact on the families of the women and men. The events ruin a person's life, similar to a death.

Have you listened to any of Mozhan Marno and Scott Brick ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but this narration was superb. The material during the trial was greatly enhanced by the emphasis made during the audio.

If you could give Missoula a new subtitle, what would it be?

How young men and women get themselves into trouble.

Any additional comments?

The sexual descriptions are very explicit, but not uncomfortably so. It's life--it's real. This book is equally as important for men to read and to pass on the gems of wisdom to their male children. The book is heartbreaking.

Would you try another book from Kristin Hannah and/or Polly Stone?

No.

What other book might you compare The Nightingale to and why?

All the light we cannot see. I found this to be a drag, too.

What didn’t you like about Polly Stone’s performance?

She spoke too slowly. This situation was made worse by the fact that the wording was highly repetitive, even within a paragraph. Too much imagery that I felt did not add anything.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Maybe. It IS a good story.

Any additional comments?

The beginning was very slow.

Would you ever listen to anything by Liane Moriarty again?

no

Would you be willing to try another one of Caroline Lee’s performances?

no, the narration was more than annoying

What character would you cut from Big Little Lies?

there is not one character that has a life or has anything to offer mankind

Any additional comments?

It is very hard to tell where this story is going; I could not finish the book though it was a bookclub selection so I was very motivated. It is unfathomable that this book is a best seller. It droned on and on with mindless events involving kindergarten children and their petty mothers.
