Jinx Tanner is an ex-con trying to piece together a life on the outside and heal her relationship with her half-sister who hasn't spoken to her in over 25 years. Romantic love is nowhere on her radar. E. J. Bastien is a business executive with her life and heart under control. She has a successful career, a woman in her bed whenever she wants one, and a healthy relationship with her grown children - as long as they don't find out she's gay. She has no desire for romantic entanglements.

Great story! and great characters. It was defintely a different storyline with the whole ex-con storyline. I loved Jinx. Flow was great.
Narration was great too! I did have or notice a weird sound issue at about 2 hours 45 minutes into the book where it sounded like there was running water or a faucet running in the background. It was super distracting at first, but I learned to tune it out after awhile. just thought it was weird.

I absolutely loved this story and the narrator. It had perfect flow and kept me interested the whole time. Great age gap romance told in a slightly unconventional way. Very steamy hot intimate scenes- well written. Yes I was sad for the characters in the beginning, but I don't think it was overdone at all. Highly recommended Harper Bliss. Great read/listen!

Much enjoyed this read. Story was put together well and flowed well. I enjoyed the characters, especially Mac... up until the end where she acted like a teenager... just saying.
Narrator did a good job. Enjoyed the listen.

When I first heard the premise of the story I was absolutely thrilled because it sounded oddly familair to a Hallmark movie I watched a few years ago and well, we all know what Hallmark movies are like so I was thrilled that I was getting a lesfic version. It was a good book but I think I expected something a little different. Yes there is infidelity in the story, but that's not a deal breaker for me in fiction so if it is for you then don't read/listen to this book. I think I expected different characters coming from Ms Beers. Spencer was just so sad to me and at times a little pathetic. Like speak up for yourself girl. So I spent more time feeling sorry for her than I did rooting for her and the new relationship. I know people really can be just like her, but it made it a less enjoyable to read about her if that makes sense. And I was honestly shocked when she cheated on Marty but I think that's the whole point. It was the first step, or one of the first steps of her growing and actually doing something for her, bcause she wanted to do it... Not because someone was telling her to do it. And I hate that the main characters don't really get together till the very end. I had like 10 mins left and I was like, well maybe they don't wind up together. I mean, I'm not saying it was a bad read. It was an enjoyable enough read but I expected more of a romance from the story. It was not that to me. The writing is excellent, it just didn't feel very romance-y to me And Im a huge Georgia Beers fan and I love when she mentions Junebug Farms in her other books.
As for the narration- it wasn't my favorite. It wasnt't really character driven. I felt more like Lori was just reading the story to us instead of actually narrating it. The voices were sometimes hard to distinguish who was talking between Spencer and Rebecca. And then at one point I was listening and it sounded like she was doing a drunk guy impression and I had to rewind the book because I thought I must have missed something, and then it turned out that it was just an older man... and her voice for an old man sounded like a drunk man to me. I had to tell myself to ignore the narration and just listen to the story. After I did that, I enjoyed it much more.

I enjoyed threw characters and their stories and struggles. This is my second Lise Gold book and I defintely look forward to more.

Great voices and story telling. Love the story and pace. I legit wish this was made into Lesbian Hallmark movie! It's the perfect basis for that type of movie, but better. A Christmas wedding starts it all! love this book.

A disastrous office affair has left Channing Hughes unemployed and (very bloody) cynical. What better time to leave Boston for her native England, where her late grandfather has named her sole heir of the Hughes fortune, along with the centuries-old manor house that’s been in the family for generations. Only one problem with that plan - there is no Hughes fortune. If anyone deserves to be cynical about life, it’s Dr. Lark Latimer. She overcame a dysfunctional upbringing in East Boston only to lose both her college sweetheart and a promising medical career when her Ma fell critically ill.

First of all the narration was top notch! CC did spectacular between all the voices. loved IT! It made,it easy to detect who was talking in each scene.
The story was good, but some of the character morals were questionable, even though it was explained away at some point in the story. I also felt this one was less romance focused and more story driven... which is fine, but I expeceted a lesfic romance. That could also be my own conception because I wasn't as invested in Lark and Channing. Channing talked about Peyton in more depth and feeling than she ever did about Lark so that may also have something to,do with it.
So it was overall just kind if ehh for me. It wasn't a bad read overall, but it just wasnt the feel good romance I was looking for.

This was such a cute read/listen! And it sounds like this was a teaser for a bigger series to come. Yay! I liked the story and the writing.
At first I just couldn't get into the narration. As she narrates I just couldn't get into her tone. It was too sleepy for me, but then when she did the voices for the characters she was quite good. So not terrible narration, but just wasn't my favorite narrator.

This is also my first book by this author. I will defintely be looking for other books by her.
