Peter Ash came home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with only one souvenir: what he calls his "white static", the buzzing claustrophobia due to post-traumatic stress that has driven him to spend a year roaming in nature, sleeping under the stars. But when a friend from the marines commits suicide, Ash returns to civilization to help the man's widow with some home repairs. Under her dilapidated porch, he finds more than he bargained for.

Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

For robotics innovator Louis Massina, aka the Puppet Master, this is far more personal than a savage act of political terrorism. Boston is his city - and one of his employees, Chelsea Goodman, is among the hostages facing certain death.

What would have made An Innocent Client better?

I do not write negative reviews but this book was so bad, i felt compelled. I guess the worst part is how the main character treats his Alzheimer’s ridden Mother; absolutely terribly (my mother suffered badly from this terrible disease). This would never happen in real-life.
Additionally, the entire logic to the plot does not make sense. Here again, the decisions made by the characters would not happen in real-life. either. This is the last book of this author I will read.

What was most disappointing about Scott Pratt’s story?

How the one individual tells Angle to not accept the plea. Come on, if she accept the plea she was off on probation and the other character would have never been discovered in her duplicity...

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Treating his ailing Mother like a dog.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from An Innocent Client?

Entire plot we hard to believe. Even when Joe went to the guys house to confront him and lighting a fire in the back yard...please!

Any additional comments?

BAD BAD book
