Hiccup is lost in the Library Labyrinth and the Driller-Dragons, Madguts and Murderous, are on the prowl. Hiccup's birthday is not going to be the quiet affair he hoped for.... This book also contains a comprehensive Dragonese Dictionary for those who'd like to dragon-whisper themselves.

What made the experience of listening to A Hero's Guide to Deadly Dragons the most enjoyable?

Although David Tennant was marvelous once again, and Cressida Cowell's story was as engaging as ever, it was dissappointing that this was *not* an unabridged version. The end seemed very sudden, which was explained when we discovered that the book goes on further. I don't know what else might have been missed.

Bill Harley's 2003 recording is a very special collection of songs and stories for bedtime about a wonderful and wacky imaginary place, The Town Around the Bend. Harley's long-established humor, meaning, and music are toned down for the quiet time right before the eyes close and the world rests.

Both my four and nine year olds love this recording, and - at least the first few times - the stories are also entertaining for the grown-ups in the family. The narrator is excellent and the songs are good too. Perfect for bedtime or for a rainy hour on the couch.

A charming story about the everyday life of six children living on the three neighboring farms that everybody calls "noisy village" because of its "high spirits".

Dissapointed by one point

If you don't mind certain Christmas myths being blown for your kids, this is a perfectly good recording, and certainly kept both my four year old girl and nine year old boy's attention. However, it also gives the game away on the former subject which I am not ready to have happen, especially for my four-year-old. Very disappointing. I am just hoping they missed it and have deleted it from iTunes.
