In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

It's ok. It's just so long. I'm interested in her life and they way that she grew and changed through the years to become who she is today, but the book just goes on and on. I'm certain that hours could have been edited out. I loved hearing about her childhood, but then it seems to stall out when she meets Obama. I can't finish it. I wish I could, but I can't. Maybe I'll come back to finish it later.

Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Would you listen to Magic Tree House Collection: Books 1-8 again? Why?

This is a GREAT Series. Bought for us to listen to on a 2 hour drive with my 5 year old. I figured we may get one story and she'd be bored. NOPE! We listened to 3 and then when we got home she raced inside to listen to more!

What does Mary Pope Osborne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love hearing the story. She does a great job narrating, and it feels like she's sitting with my daughter and me, reading us a story before bed. She does a great job of bringing the characters to life.
