Bleu Montclair knew as a young girl that she would one day escape the hard, unrelenting streets of Flint, Michigan. When her desperate prayers are answered in the form of a scholarship to UCLA, she knows she's struck gold. But soon after arriving, all her beautiful, bright dreams begin to fall apart. Endless temptations abound in the form of cars, clothes, booze, and drugs, and Bleu cannot keep up. When her roommate gives her the opportunity to make a lot of money fast, Bleu goes all in.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this book to anyone and I did. The narrator was GREAT and she narrated very well. Superb job Wahida. I like you books because most are based on true life events.

Tamina's childhood revolved around one person, her best friend, Markus. Ever since he moved across the street, she had been fascinated by him. They played ball together, went to school together, and hung out at the corner store all the time. Everyone at school would say they were together, but Markus never said anything. Tamina wanted to be with him, even if it was against her mother's wishes. Markus' father was a big time gangsta, but Tamina was sure Markus was nothing like him, until she came home from school one day and saw him getting put in the back of a police car.

No other love was the terms of Dinasia Whitman's and Tislam Parker's vow: a serious promise made upon falling in love when they were children growing up in the foster care system. It was also the lyrics to their favorite childhood song. But Shateek Davis also had a thing for vows premised on love; he too loved Dinasia and was the type that once he loved someone, he loved hard, uncompromising and...forever.
