An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

I loved this book.
I did not want it to end.
I kept trying not to listen to it
so I could prolong the experience,
however i was so enthralled in the story that I had to listen to it every second I had free.
I really enjoyed this book.

Here at Audible, we know just how much of an impact a voice can have on a story - taking simple words and filling them with elation, wonderment, tragedy, or pure satisfaction. We rely on our narrators every day to bring our favorite stories and characters to life - to introduce us to new authors and genres, or even to a new (perhaps longer) commute. And though our narrators are the best story tellers in the business, it's usually someone else's that they're telling.

I very much enjoyed (feeling) the emotions That I could hear in their voices as they spoke.
I just lost my son SRGT Aubrey Williams
of the United States Marines
10/29/2016 while he was deployed in Japan. I have not been quite up to the task of being happy and joyful.
I noticed that as I was listening to These little stories a tiny little sprout of merry Christmas started to grow from somewhere within me.
Thank You.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that needs a little pick me up.
You cannot help your self but to picture the story and smiling at their memories as if they were your own.
