I usually adore Sophie Kinsella books but I struggled with this one. It's written very well but I vascillated between wanting to deck the main character, Fixie, for being too wishy washy, her brother and Ryan, the supposed love of her life for being such jerks and her sister, for being a cow. I had to stop listening for a couple of weeks and go back because it was making me so mad. Perhaps the fact that I felt that way is a testament to how well it's written and how the people came to life for me but it was not a comfortable book by any means.

The Best!

Milly Johnson delivers another book to make you laugh and cry. I always enjoy her stories and if you're an avid reader of hers, you'll recognize a number of characters and the Daily Trumpet. Please never change the editor of that paper. I laugh until I cry at those corrections. The narrator is wonderful, as always and again, as always, I was terribly sad to reach the end of the book!

As always, a winner.

I have read all of Kate Morton's books and waited for this one impatiently. This is the first book of hers that I have listened to rather than read first and it was fantastic. It is very involved with a beautifully braided set of characters that wind together into a stunning story. I will read the book later as well because there are so many nuances and layers I am sure to have missed something. I've found I need to read Ms. Morton's books a good ten times before I feel like I've finally seen all the subtle but important details.
Joanne Froggatt was wonderful. One of my favorite actresses, I was nevertheless, apprehensive that I might have hints of Downton Abbey in my brain as distractions but this was not the case at all. Every character was recognizable by voice. There is so much talent there to be able to do that. Simply amazing.
I absolutely recommend this book!

This book had me laughing out loud and trying not to cry. The author writes an engaging story with a witty main character in Willow and her relationship with her mother, suffering from Alzheimer's, all while living her life and falling in love. The narrators voice was perfect for the part and she did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. I will definitely read and listen to more by this author!

Love the books. have read them all many times and just recently started listening to them. The narrator for this one is not right. This story can't be told from the perspective of a young woman in a man's voice. Tragic.

Loved the book. Made me laugh and cry. The narrator sounds like a good actress but she does a terrible English accent. Too American. Next time hire an actual English woman.
