Loved this. Good narration on a strong plot and excellent characterisation. I don't give story rundowns in my reviews, that's what blurbs are for. I didn't want this to finish.

If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Give the story some guts. The characters do stuff, but none of it really does anything for the story, or for them. Boooooring.

Has Wait for It turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not at all. You win most, you lose some. I bought this on because of the length (15hrs). I'm on holidays and was after something great to listen to. Massively disappointed.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narrator was good. You can only work with the material you have.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Hell no.

Any additional comments?

Sorry I went for quantity over quality.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Can't say because the reader was so bad I couldn't go past Chapter 1.

How could the performance have been better?

Having a reader who :
1. Reads slowly, not races from one sentence to the next without pausing for breath.
2. Knows how to vary the modulation of his voice so it's not a droning monotone.
3. Can vary his voice, even a little, between characters

Did The Blood Betrayal inspire you to do anything?

Yes, not read past chapter 1.

Any additional comments?

Disappointed that we are actually charged money for such a poor performance.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I'm sure the story would have turned out to be ok but I just couldn't get past the Kiwi (New Zealand) accent. Having the narration in US accent and the dialogue in NZ accent was very disconcerting and broke the flow of he story for me - so much so that I couldn't get past the first chapter.
