This Regency-era tale closes best-selling author Julia Quinn's popular and critically acclaimed Bridgerton series. Gregory Bridgerton has watched love simply walk into the lives of his six siblings, so he has just been waiting for his turn. Story was a bit convoluted. I never seemed to get into any of the characters. If Licy had just TOLD Gregory they could have resolved earlier. Book seemed to be a one note, which is unusual for Julia Quinn. I love her books.

Lady Clarissa Crambray wanted a husband, but maybe not as much as her stepmother wanted one for her. Really! Doffing her spectacles might make a girl prettier, but how would she see? She'd already caused enough mayhem to earn a rather horrible nickname. Yet as all other suitors seemed to shy away in terror, there came a man to lead her to the dance floor. A dark, handsome, blur of a man.

Loved it. One of the best I have read by Sands. The carriage ride with the wedding night discussion was hysterical! Nice mystery but not overly dramatic. Justine Eyre was terrific! Highly recommend.

Lady Evina Maclean has heard much about Rory Buchanan’s skill as a healer. What she hasn’t heard is how good the brawny Highlander looks bathing in a waterfall. But Evina can’t afford the distraction, for her ailing father urgently needs care. Only when she’s rendered Buchanan unconscious and dragged him back to her family’s castle does the truth emerge - it’s not Rory she’s kidnapped but his brother, Conran.

Poor narration. Not as bad as previous book, which was unlistenable. ok story and I probably would've liked it more if one of the ladies had been narrating. Not sure it is a keeper. Hope they have better narration for Geordie's story.

BUT the narrator was SO BAD I could not finish. I tried to make it through since I am working through the series...but augh Mr Doyle was just terrible. Terrible accent...sometimes he sounded like the characters might be from Scotland...sometimes he sounded like the characters might be from India. I think the story would have been good and gave the story benefit of the doubt...but returning. Skip this one.
