Performance is so distracting... this narrator projects an exclamation point to the end of every sentence. And often reads in a sing song voice. Very disappointed that she is the voice for the newer Lisa Kleypas books... Sorry, I can't get past the voice:(

Better than the 1st book, in plot and narration.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Poisoned Season to be better than the print version?

Yes

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I find these books easy to get lost in.

Which character – as performed by Justine Eyre – was your favorite?

Colin

Any additional comments?

I liked this reader much better than the first. The voice has a younger sound, and the different voices were wonderful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tony Canning

What about Juliet Stevenson’s performance did you like?

She brought the story alive.

Any additional comments?

What did you love best about Silent in the Sanctuary?

I am wondering about the confusion of the narrator, other reviews say it isn't Ellen Archer. She is the narrator of the book I purchased, and was very good.

What other book might you compare Silent in the Sanctuary to and why?

Moves a little slow at first.

Which character – as performed by Ellen Archer – was your favorite?

I like all of Ellen Archer's voices.

What did you like best about Carrots? What did you like least?

The story is a light, but good read. The narrator pulled it down... it could have been a lot better listen.

Would you be willing to try another book from Colleen Helme? Why or why not?

Yes

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Wendy Tremont King?

Lorelei King, Therese Plummer... someone with more pep, and a difference in men and women voices.

Did Carrots inspire you to do anything?

maybe pay more attention to body language

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Remove the lusty thoughts, the few sex scenes and this could be a bad childrens book titled "Tricks the Wonder Dog". The first chapter was good, had me hooked.. then...Honestly, I was completely stumped, and left wondereing if this was some elaborate joke with an editor? friend??? Just to see if they could pass off the rest of the book to a 12 year old writer. Why in the world was it even considered for publication? And as a hardback on the "new and bestseller" table in bookstores! Have our IQ's really dropped to this level? Mainly, I am completely insulted by Ms. Howard, and her publishing house for feeding her fans such tripe. I have a Golden, and love him dearly, and think he is amazing... But this book is creepy, bordering on mental health issues in the woman's obsession with the dog! Get help!

What do you think your next listen will be?

not sure

What aspect of Tanya Eby’s performance would you have changed?

the book was so bad she couldn't help it

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Troublemaker?

Everything except the first chapter.

Any additional comments?

I found no choice to click and mark the book with "ZERO" stars... you need to have this option, as one star is way too many for this book!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I had high expectations for this book after reading the "parasol series"
which was wonderful, a deeper plot, complex characters... an adult read. This book seemed shallow in comparison.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting aspect of this story is Prudence's extended family... which fails to materialize often it this book

What three words best describe Moira Quirk’s performance?
Not the same narrator as the parasol series... which is a disappointment. I so wanted to hear Dama's voice again.

Do you think Prudence needs a follow-up book? Why or why not

Any additional comments?
I really wish Audible would flag, tag, or find some way to mark a book as "YOUNG ADULT"

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder on the House?

I liked the marbles

What does Xe Sands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like her voice.

Any additional comments?

Liked it better to listen than to read.

What would have made Lick better?

I wish Audible would list a categorie for "Teen Explicit Sex" I admit I should have read the reviews closer instead of just scanning them. When I flew by one reference liking to "Shades of Grey" I should have known... this was a young adult listen.

What could Kylie Scott have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I use the word "adult" loosely here... this book started with promise, quickly dropped into a young adult genre... which I could have enjoyed... but halfway through it became a teen drama.. a sexually active teen.

What three words best describe Andi Arndt’s performance?

Good reader... she stayed with the drop in age and IQ.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Embarrassment

Any additional comments?

Audible please give these books their own categorie.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would get rid of the constant sarcasm... Is Charley likeable? The sarcasm, and lame jokes are beyond annoying. And we get it, Reyes is good looking... the redunance of bring this to light is overkill, and the overuse of the word hashtag was like counting cars on a passing train.

What was most disappointing about Darynda Jones’s story?

This could be a wonderful series. The potentional is amazing... BUT... and this is a big but! Most of the characters come to life... But Charley seems to watch life from a stage... disengaged, viewing her life as a huge joke, almost as if the life really belongs to someone else, someone she doesn't particularly care for. Then she procedes to detail Charley's life with the attitude of a bad stand up comic.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Lorelei King is the only saving grace in this listen.

Did Sixth Grave on the Edge inspire you to do anything?

Yes... write this review.

Any additional comments?

I have read the other books in this series. I guess this one was the straw.
