Terrific story with deep insightful characters. The narration was great and the complex building of the different family variations was crafty. It never got boring and I usually listen at bedtime but found myself turning it back on when I woke up and finished quickly because it was hard to stop listening! I will be checking out this author's other books.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

I love this series and even the readers for the series Kate Redding is one of my favorites. I am easily board but found the fantasy adventure so much fun and so well written. They bring the characters to life very vividly in your mind. I could not stop listening and have already downloaded 2.5 before I finished this book! well worth the credit.

I love to listen to my audible when I go to sleep and some books I purchase cannot hold my attention, and I'm always having to go back and read listen. This book was fascinating all the way through and I found myself going to bed a little earlier just so I could get in a few chapters before I would doze off. There was plenty of action and a terrific plot that did not follow the typical sci-fi script. Very happy with the purchase and wish the book would have been a little longer. this is the first one of the series and I will be looking into the others hopefully they are as well written, equally entertaining.

Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Love the Jack Reacher series but could not listen to any other narrator. Gave up on 1 book because of the narration, then found the next one that Dick Hill read. He really nails Jacks character down and even when he switches to other characters he really makes them diffrent and never boring!
This story line was fun with lots of twists in the traditional Reacher style of cleaning up the rif raf.
