On a quest to find her sister's killer, Mac is a major player in a deadly game, but with one great advantage: she knows how to find the Sinsar Dubh, an ancient book of magic so dark it corrupts anyone who touches it. What Mac soon discovers is worse than she had imagined. Surrounded by treachery, her enemies indistinguishable from her allies, she can be certain of only one thing: as All Hallows' Eve approaches, her time is running out.

I don't agree with many of the posts but we all have our own likes and dislikes. I could not hit the stop button and had to listen to the whole book in one sitting! and I have re listened to it trying to get some of the hints for the next book, will the dreamy eye boy play a bigger part, how will Mac... well you have to read or listen to it. It is part of a series and does leave you needing the next book, which personally I cant wait for! If you have troubles with instalments, you may wait till they all come out BUT I would in the end don't miss the series. I am counting the days to Dreamfever!

MacKayla Lane's life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she's your perfectly ordinary 21st-century woman. Or so she thinks...until something extraordinary happens.

This book is the first of in a series, MacKayla Lane gets a call that her sister is was murdered and goes to Ireland to find out who did it where she meets Jerricho Barons and... well read for a mystery, paranormal, chemisty, fairies, twisits and much more! As it is a series of 5 books (if I remember right and only two published as now) if you want that "traditional romance" you may want to look else where, this book sets up much of the story. But if you just want a really really great read, one that you will can't wait till the next installment, this is the book! Oh the next installment is the Bloodfever which is just as good, but the one after that isnt due out until September. I am counting the days. All in all, I totally recommend ALL Karen Monings books. They are all my favorite!

They establish an uneasy bond, but it isn't enough for Caine. He wants all Desi has to offer. He wants her screams, her moans, her demands...everything. I am the first to say, reviews don't always match my taste. A book can get a bad review but I still like it. This book left me .. "eh." It has tons of explicit sex (for me it wasnt romantic type, more graphic sex) and I just couldn't get into the story. It could be as well, I am not too into westerns. It just seemed .. depressing to me through most the book, it about a lot of abuse and getting past it. So I am not deterring from any one reading it, I am sure many will enjoy this book, but it just wasn't my style. I don't review much but this one I would like to warn is of pretty mature nature.

I enjoyed this book and will listen to it again at a later date. The story was not confusing to me, the characters engaged my interest and I liked the story. By the end it even answered a few of points I was wondering if they were going to go unanswered. I cant say what becuase that would spoil some of the twists for some! I enjoyed it and if you like time travel novels, think most will like this one.
