What's that you say? You want more village growth? Well be careful where you stand, because the Mist Village just took a Viagra-Cialis sandwich, and there is a stiff breeze blowing! (I can make some more references if you're still not getting the point...did you see what I did there?)

I got this as a 3 books for 1 credit. the first part is great. then it just gets confusing. All the characters from the first part are just gone and well you have to try and figure out what is what and who is who. maybe I will re-listen to some of the middle....R.C. BRAY is fantastic.

Everyone is in stasis, so they'll be safe during the trip, but when Zero's pod malfunctions it wakes him early, like 105 years early. At first he's excited to be the only one awake - he has the entire ship to himself, so he can go anywhere and see and do and eat anything he wants - but when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and kidnap the colonizers, Zero has to think fast and find a way to stop them all on his own.

Rezkin is an elite warrior who aims to restore order in Ashai after Caydean's attack on the King's Tournament transformed former allies and trading partners into enemies. With no army and only a ragtag group of refugees, Rezkin must wrest control of the kingdom from the mad and powerful usurper, who seems bent on destruction, and this may not be the biggest challenge. If he fails, the kingdom will be ripped apart, and Rezkin will have violated Rule 1 - to protect and honor his friends.

I don't know what is so bad about this book for me but let me try to tell you.
1 - the main characters assholelishness
2 - main character's voice when speaking
3 - the stupid way he trys and succeeds in manipulating the NPCs
4 - the writing
5 - the performance by the narrator is just plain hard for me to listen to. I really hate the way he reads this story.
6 - I have tried multiple times to finish this book. giving up for a Nick Podehl narration.

I still have 4 hours left of listening and I'm going to struggle through but damn this is basic.

of all the adventuring books I have read and listened to this one is one towards the bottom. I was expecting much much more from Mercedes. everything is explained to us as if this is a teen novel. every thought and every bit of scenery described in excessive detail.

there is little, verging on No action. How Kellen could get so good at everything so quickly is beyond me. ah well no one will be reading this review but one last thing.
the narrator is not the right person for this story.
