For decades, hidden from the public eye, William Morris agents made the deals that determined the fate of stars, studios, and networks alike. Mae West, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Danny Thomas, Steve McQueen--the Morris Agency sold talent to anyone in the market for it, from the Hollywood studios to the mobsters who ran Vegas to the Madison Avenue admen who controlled television.

Wow! I was ALWAYS so curious about how things started and worked with these big powerhouses of the film industry.
William Morris has been such a big name in the industry. Even today we still hear many of the names listed as a part of this agency.
What a fascinating look into the world where only the most powerful in Hollywood play a game of high stakes gambling on the backs of the talent that walks through the doors.
If you are fascinated by actors/actresses, films, movies, Hollywood, and or the history of some of the most powerful men in the industry of film, and Hollywood..., this book is for you!
Yes!! The stories you've heard are true!
Peddling the flesh of new talents and fighting to hold onto what they have..., the William Morris Agency is cut throat, and at times ruthless.
A book well worth the time and the money👍🏻

I love Tom Hanks... so when I saw this book, I thought "alright!", a book on Hanks! Well the story was fairly decent as far as I listened, but the narration was awful. I tried to get past the drone of the reader, but just got very tired of it. He ruined the story. I will have to try and find another "Hanks" bio. If you don't mind the slow drone of the narrators voice, you might enjoy this story. The narrator just does not fit well! Read by a different person would make a difference.

In this brave and moving memoir, Corey Feldman is revealing the truth about what his life was like behind the scenes: His is a past that included physical, drug, and sexual abuse, a dysfunctional family from which he was emancipated at age fifteen, three high-profile arrests for drug possession, a nine-month stint in rehab, and a long, slow crawl back to the top of the box office.

Whether you are a "Corey" fan or not... if you enjoy great story telling.. this book is for you! I didn't know what to expect when I got this book, but figured I'd give it a chance. Growing up watch Corey , and "the Corey's" in everything they did, I admit I was curious as to what Corey Feldman's life has been like. Following g his story from sever disfunction in his family life, to the frightening life as a child being pursued by pedophiles, being surrounded by drugs and other issues that NO child should be subjected to, dealing with the loss of friends because of the lifestyle is just gut wrenching . Corey shares his journey from being a sweet innocent to the man he has become today. But doesn't leave out the pitfalls along the way. Get ready for a ride..., Corey is a great story teller. He keeps you interested the whole wY through. I hated for the story to end. I will listen to it again!

You know..., I Love Jon Cryer. His story is funny, heartfelt, and honest. I got a kick out of his humor.., but then that's what makes him so great! Who will EVER forget him as "Ducky", in Pretty in Pink singing and dancing to Try A Little Tenderness?! Watching his character deal with that heart wrenching pain of love at that age... WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE! Jon caught my heart long ago..., so it was with great pleasure I devoured this book. It may be a little too tame for some whom are expecting some more explicit story telling about his dealings with his films and shows, as well as actors he's worked with. BUT he does have some great stories, and is wonderful at telling them!! I found myself laughing out loud on many occasions. I have listened to this book twice already and will probably listen to it again!! A great "read" for anyone who loves Jon, Ducky, or just great light story telling!!

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner first crossed paths as actors on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Little did they know that their next roles, in a new science-fiction television series, would shape their lives in ways no one could have anticipated. In 79 television episodes of Star Trek and six feature films, they grew to know each other more than most friends could ever imagine. Over the course of half a century, Shatner and Nimoy saw each other through personal and professional highs and lows.

Okay I admit it.... I've been a Trekkie for years. It's been hard to slowly lose our beloved Star Trek actors. DeForest Kelley, Jimmy Doohan, Majel Barrett, and then Leonard Nimoy. I had the pleasure of meeting them all at least once over the years.
The story is good. I learned some things about Nimoy that I did not know. It was interesting to be able to looking into the depths of this man, through Shatners relationship with him.
However Shatner, although doing a great job at narration, tends to rattle on about himself at times.
Otherwise... it seemed to be a genuine story telling of one beloved friend by another.
