Jackie can do nothing but watch and wait as an odd assortment of bidders, some with nefarious intentions, drive the price up higher.

The overall idea was interesting, but the story actually fell flat. I was hoping it would ramp up and end with an unexpected conclusion, but it did not.
As for the narration, sometimes a reader can really make you feel as if many different people are reading. This was not the case for this book.
