Most of us live with the stubborn idea that we'll always have tomorrow to do our most important and valuable work. We fill our days with frantic activity, bouncing from task to task, scrambling to make deadlines and chase the next promotion. But by the end of each day we're often left asking ourselves "did the work I do today really matter?" We feel the ticking of the clock, but we're stuck in first gear, unsure of the path forward and without a road map to guide us.

For many of us, our schedules are chaotic and overcommitted. Here, Susanka shows us that it is possible to take our finger off the fast-forward button. She reveals that form and function serve not only architectural aims but life goals as well. We quickly discover that we have all the space and time we need for the things in our lives that really matter. But perhaps the greatest reward is the discovery that small changes can yield enormous results.

Not ever having heard of Rumy, by the references in the book, & the single name, I assumed he's an ancient philosopher...
NOT!
Google turned up a minuscule amount of info....

I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING!
Or looked up the wrong RUMY!

But there is more to America's great best-selling books than the sales figures they rake in. American bestsellers also offer us ways to appreciate and understand particular periods of American culture. In this series of 24 lectures you'll enjoy a pointed look at key best-selling works and their places within the greater fabric of American cultural history.

I grew up as clueless as some in this book...in Memphis. My daddy was a truck driver, but we had a black woman who ironed for us. My godmother had a full time maid....no children! She was born in early 1900s....grew up in the country...never questioned the way things were...
