Once, war was a temporary state of affairs - a violent but brief interlude between times of peace. Today America's wars are everywhere and forever: Our enemies change constantly and rarely wear uniforms, and virtually anything can become a weapon. As war expands, so does the role of the US military. Today military personnel don't just "kill people and break stuff". Instead they analyze computer code, train Afghan judges, build Ebola isolation wards, eavesdrop on electronic communications, develop soap operas, and patrol for pirates.

Solid information. The United States is and must evolve to address new threats, but it can not do it all.

A twisted tale of murder in the world of big-stakes bass fishing tournaments. Filled with ex-wives, evangelists, and an armed pit-bull, this is a story that could only be concocted by Carl Hiaasen, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, New York Times best-selling author, and czar of Florida noir fiction.

This one great author! I hate fishing but the charaters are so much fun. Learned a little about bass fishing and can understand why so many people enjoy it. Try Skinny Dip, I have listened to this book 3 times. Double Whammy will get at least one more listen.

I usually enjoy this author but I was really tired of hearing "shut-up". I gave up about 2/3 of the way in.
