Curtis Black is no stranger to scandal. Throughout the decades, he has done much in the public eye, both good and evil. But what most people don't realize is that Curtis has been hiding a horrific childhood that has affected him in countless, unspeakable ways. His buried past returns in an unwelcome visit when his estranged sister becomes alarmingly ill and his youngest child, 12-year-old Curtina, becomes the kind of problem daughter that he never imagined she could be. This is only the beginning.

Thanks to Mrs. Robie for such a wonderful ride, over the years - from start to finish! I couldn't imagine what else could be said or done with this family, but she certainly made the ending interesting. Good story line with very relevant lessons every Christian, every Pastor, and every Church must learn before we leave this earth.

Laurie Moran's professional life is a success - her television show, Under Suspicion, is a hit in both the ratings and its record of solving cold cases. But her romantic break from former host Alex Buckley has left her with on-air talent she can't stand - Ryan Nichols - and a sense of loneliness, despite her loving family. Much better than the first! And while I like that author narrated the story, I was disappointed in the monotone narration. smh... Oh well, at least the timing was on point!

I also loved the themes of spiritual warfare and how even Christians can be influenced by demonic forces! Good job!

This book has been on my "To Read" list forever. I finally decided to listen to the audio version. While the story line was very good, the narration was very disappointing! The character voices wouldn't have been so bad, but the timing was off and made it difficult to relate to picture the characters. I plan to listen to Book #2, but if the flow od the reader is off, I may not make it to Book #3!

Wow! This by far was one of the best in the series! Again I appreciate topics addressed, especially issues of singleness, including fornication/adultery, the need to address sex preferences prior to marriage; issues surrounding women in ministry and female pastors. It is also very scary thinking about people who "call themselves into ministry and/or lose sight of what Gpd has calles them to do resulting in ungodly/unethical behaviors! Whew! What's next. Can't wait to see. Thank you, Ms. Roby

Two years ago, to everyone's surprise, Dillon Whitfield Black, the secret son of Reverend Curtis Black, boldly moved back home, married a woman named Raven, decided he was going to become a minister, and then founded a church right in the center of his living room. Today he's pastor of a 1,000-plus-member congregation, and new members are joining weekly. Sadly, behind closed doors Dillon is far from being a saint. He has become more like the man his father was 30 years ago - consumed with money, power, and lots of women.
