If you are a history buff, you will thoroughly enjoy this Georgette Heyer novel. The romance is present but takes a backseat to the exciting battle narrative that puts you right smack in the middle of the famous Waterloo Battle. Heyer's detailed description allows the reader to hear, see and even smell the smoke as the Duke of Wellington meets his match in Napoleon. Who will win? As Wellington proclaimed "Let's see who can pound away the Longest!"

I am making my way through Georgette Heyer's novels on audible. This reading was fantastic. The narrator did a splendid job changing pitch, pace, tone and even volume for the different characters. I loved the story line, the spunky plain faced heroine and her arrogant Lord who learns humility...By her hands!
