The book FAR outweighs the movie, which in itself was terrific. I have listened to this book SEVERAL times. Linda Stephens does a fantastic job of narrating all the characters. Book includes characters like Mrs. Tarleton and others who really were fascinating and added so much depth to the story. Also scenes from Gerald's funeral, the other two children of Scarlett's, and a much deeper look at Ashley's role make the book a MUST read for all who enjoyed the movie. Get it with the credit, get it, get it, get it! You won't be disappointed!

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Biased because I'm southern to the core, but just loved it. I KNEW these women. The performers were spot on. Defintely worth the credit!
