Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

I had issues with the narrator. I felt she was boring, aggravating, and treated her baby daddy like a piece of crap with no real cause. I would have preferred the story told from Thea's POV because she was more interesting to me. The story is really interesting and keeps you guessing for sure though!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Meh. I didn't hate it but there wasn't a lot of character development and tension. It was quirky and light-hearted, which is great if that's something you like. But other than her having a crush on a guy who immediately gets in her pants, there's not a lot of conflict or tension between them.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It's a very easy read, but again, I like a little more substance in my stories, especially at what we pay for them. More character tension and conflict, otherwise it's all too easy.

Have you listened to any of Shayna Thibodeaux and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was Nuts worth the listening time?

I didn't finish it. I lost interest.

What did you love best about Blackmoore?

I love a steamy romance, but I adore proper romances, and Julianne Donaldson never disappoints. I loved Edenbrooke, and I loved this story, everything about it--the characters, the order in which the story was told, her beautifully and clearly written prose, the twists and turns... All of it was perfect and magical and transported me to Blackmoore. Cassandra Campbell was THE BEST narrator I've ever listened to. I can only hope that when I bring my own historical romances to audio I can get her on board. Her inflection and intonation--her storytelling itself is all simply perfect, and I enjoyed the story all the more. Thank you both for creating such a beautiful story that I could listen to and still get sucked into the pages, unable to set the story aside for even a day. Although I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, I have to say that her stories, no matter how amazing and timeless, never evoke so much gut wrenching emotion as this story did for me. Perhaps I'm just a hopeless romantic, but I can't wait for the next!

Which character – as performed by Cassandra Campbell – was your favorite?

She did an amazing job on all of the character and the intonations and the accents.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!!!

Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years. Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape.

If you could sum up Killing Sarai in three words, what would they be?

Intense interesting read

What did you like best about this story?

I liked Victor and Sarai's relationship and how realistic and transitional it seemed to be.

Have you listened to any of Stephen Bel Davies and Kate Reinders ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At times, yes.

Any additional comments?

I was really surprised by the narration choice for Victor. I don't think it was a good fit, in fact I think it made him seem like a completely different character than what Sarai saw and portrayed to the reader. While I think Stephen is a great narrator, his voice sounds very cultured and a little too old and less severe that I would picture Victor sounding like. It was pretty distracting to me, so I gave the story 4 stars.

What made the experience of listening to Dare You To the most enjoyable?

I liked the rawness of Beth's character. She's a character more real to life than most characters tend to be, but then again, McGarry's last book was the same way. Well done!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beth, because she's so innocent event though she thinks she's a badass and loser, and she's ignorant to what life's possibilities are which I believe a lot of youth in her situation would view life too. She's guarded with good cause, but she's also smart and witty and compassionate and it makes for a very compelling/complex character. This is a gritty story, not sugar coated at all, it's real to life and I like that. Even Ryan's life is far from perfect beneath his all-star, boy-next-door exterior.

Have you listened to any of Brittany Pressley and Christopher Gebauer ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I never have before. I thought Brittany was a perfect fit for Beth, but Christopher was only okay. It's nothing against his narrating because he's great, but I can't picture the character the way he's described when I'm listening to Christopher. He sounds too nice, maybe even too young. I'm not sure.

Any additional comments?

I love this author and I'll definitely be listening to the next book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend. It was fun, fast, and had a fantastic narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Yours to Keep?

The whole story was simple, fun, and totally endearing and kept me listening even when I should have been doing something else.

What does Lauren Fortgang bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is just a great reader and actor. She's great with intonations and just taking her time. Pausing to get a point across and so on. Probably one of, if not THE best narrator I've heard for romances.

Any additional comments?

I've found a new narrator that I love and an author who I'll continue to read as much as I can! Loved everything about it!
