Yancy Lazarus is having a bad day: there's a bullet lodged in his butt cheek, his face looks like the site of a demolition derby, and he's been saran-wrapped to a banquet table. He never should have answered the phone. Stupid bleeding heart - helping others in his circles is a good way to die - just ask the gang members ripped to pieces by some kind of demonic nightmare in LA.

It's not easy being king. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with. Add to that his daughter, the fire priestess/princess; a couple of lightly deranged professional magicians; a whole city full of wizards; and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument. It's enough to make a man want to just go home.

I really enjoyed this series. It is not a "everyone lives, feel good" saga. It delves into the human psyche and shows how far someone might go to do what they feel is right and how far some "people" will go to get what they want. It shows also what some are willing to sacrifice for the greater good and for love.
The naration was well done, not once pulling me out of the story.

recording hiss and dubbing?

love the story. didn't like the production. a lot of recording hiss and what sounds like dubbing by a different narrator unless there are times when the original narrator drops his voice a couple of octaves.

What did you like best about Dragons of a Fallen Sun? What did you like least?
I love the story especially the return of one of my favorite characters.
What other book might you compare Dragons of a Fallen Sun to and why?
All the other Dragonlance books are similar in feel to Tolkien's books.
What didn’t you like about Marieve Herington’s performance?
Listening to shon instead of shown and glow-er instead of glower is steadily driving me crazy. And that is not even talking about the elves sounding like hyper children (shouldn't that be the Kender?) or the mispronouncing of names. The narrator has a beautiful voice, too bad her pronunciations will have me avoiding anything she reads after this trilogy.

I'm impressed with this author. I've thoroughly enjoyed this steroid this far. The narration is good, almost but not quite great. A few idiosyncrasies tried to pull me out of the story however they were few and the writing managed to pull me back in.
