When everything is on the line, how far will you go to protect those you love? What if the cost of saving them is your soul? Would you pay it? I thought I was prepared for what was coming; that if I made sacrifices, I could win this game. I’m no longer afraid of the darkness or the monsters that hide in the shadows. I’ve become what I feared most, allowing it in to protect those I loved. Sometimes it takes a monster to win. Sometimes to fight monsters, you have to become one. My only fear is…can I come back from it?

The story line had too much unnecessary teasing of sex & sex scene as fillers. Less characters development & new characters thrown in at the end of the story. Female narrator was flat and boring while the male narrator was amazing but had minimal screen time.

Overall, the story line is shallow & lack substance.
Performance, the male narrator was good but the female sounded mechanical.
The story focused on the insta-love and sexual drive than anything worth listening to.

Mrs. Castille, I think you have out done yourself. You are an excellent writer and when your first book was great and second one even better, that speaks volumes. In addition, Aiden Snow is an amazing narrator. I am in love with his voice. He has the perfect intonation for every line. He's brings the characters alive.
PS: You really know how to produce a sex as hell Italian mobsters. Sexy times & chemistry was of the hook ;-)

Ok, first I would like to say that Dannika Dark has the gift of descriptive writing but with this novel it was misplaced. Nice story which had a lot of potential but it needed some serious editing. It was wordy with unnecessary fillers and too many characters introduced too soon. We didn't get a chance to digest and develop the main characters. Laura Write does an excellent job in her Mark by the Vampire series in gradually intruding new characters that will eventually get their own story. AND what's with the second POV with the Hero towards the end of the story. Why not utilize that format from the start. There was gratuitous plots. It was a big negative when the heroin was a magnetic doormat for sexiual assault from men in her past.
On to the narration, the narrator wasn't bad but her voice was a bit mature for a 27 year old female & Lorenzo sounded mechanical. Overall the pace could have been faster.

First off I'd like to say I respect any author who took the time to conjure up a properly written story & I hate giving negative reviews.
I'm going to skip the summary and jump right in. Be prepared for spoiler alerts.
1. I don't mind instalove but this story took it to a whole nother level. Both main characters were spilling their guts for each other in the first few chapters.
2. The main reason for their road trip was anticlimactic.
3. There where unnecessary fillers like the beach scene with the older couple.
4. The female narrator was monotone & her male voice attempt wasn't any better.

I loved writing style, the pace was great & the narrator was amazing but I felt like there should have been more to the story line. There was no peak of excitement even though there was action. When I'm done reading a story I like to reminisce about it, especially on my favorite parts. With this novel, I didn't feel that way.

Loved Aiden Snow's voice which was sexy as hell but there was a disconnect with Lisia Dornet. I think she might of had a cold and needed record to meet the deadline which didn't do just for the novel. Overall the author provided a well written story.
