Read this sometime back and saw that I could add the audible version for cheap so went for it.

Great production. The volume was fantastic. I hate when I can barely hear the narrator.

This book is relatable and funny and a bit sad at times but would definitely recommend.

Her heart, though, is back up North, with the only man who has ever gotten through her defenses: Assail, who never meant to fall in love - certainly not with a human woman. I had to skip some parts with V and Jane but that turned out ok.

Some words pronounced differently in this book than many of the others in the series so that threw me off just a bit.

The main storyline was good. I was not a big fan of Assail when he was first introduced but after he rescued Marcus my opinion changed.

I've listened to the seris out of order and I'm actually quite glad. This was my least favorite so far. I loved the female lead but absolutely hated the male lead, mostly because he forbid the use of vibrator by his mate and also because he called her baby too much.

I enjoyed the slightly different shifter community than other books in this genre. Great supporting characters. Knowing some of their stories already was pleasant for me.

Before they know it, Hayden and Cody are spending more time with each other than with anyone else. But Hayden just got out of a relationship and should be spending his nights having fun and working it around town, not jumping into something serious again. Cody's always just gone with the flow, believing if it's meant to happen, it will. But life doesn't always work that way, and if they don't fight for what's right in front of them, Hayden and Cody might be over before they have the chance to even get started.

"Slut" is a great word. It just sounds perfect - so sharp and clear and beautiful. It's one of those satisfying four letter words, like cunt and f--k. Slut also happens to be an anagram for lust, which is one of those divine coincidences that makes you wonder if God actually exists. We're lucky that slut is such a great word, because it's safe to say that almost every woman will be called a slut at least once in her lifetime. Despite a slowly shifting sexual double standard, it's still taboo to be a woman who's openly sexual - let alone one who sleeps around.

I laughed a lot listening to this book. I loved how honest Karley was. This is definitely not your book if you have an issue with swearing or graphic discussion of personal matters. There was even a moment for me where I almost threw up a bit in my mouth. You would think that was a bad thing but if a book can cause that sort of reaction it's a good book in my opinion.

Of course, since I've gotten older there is a part of me that knows many of the experiences the author shared put her in dangerous situations. I'm glad she made it to this point.

I think any woman over the age of 25 should consider this book mandatory reading.

I must be really demented because I thought this book was extremely cute despite the fact that we're looking at everything through the eyes of the bad guy. I was right there with Joe the whole time, wanting him to get the girl, wanting things to work out. Great job Caroline Kepnes - you wrote a book that was so engrossing that I actually forgot that the main character was a killer.
I don't know if I would have enjoyed the book as much if I'd read it instead of listening - Santino Fontana did an amazing job in pulling the listener into his mind and his world. I was wary about the POV but it worked.
** Slight spoilers below **
The ending really wrapped up everything quite well. I wasn't sad about the events that transpired, it was just how it was meant to be. I think it really helped that Beck was not a character I could relate to or that had any redeeming qualities. Oh, and I'm glad Peach got what was coming to her.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Among the great literary achievements of the 20th century, Lolita soars in audio thanks to the incomparable Jeremy Irons, bringing to life Nabokov’s ability to shock and enthrall more than 50 years after publication. Lolita became a cause celebre because of the erotic predilections of its protagonist. But Nabokov's masterpiece owes its stature not to the controversy its material aroused but to its author's use of that material to tell a love story that is shocking in its beauty and tenderness.

I'm not rating low because of subject matter. I was fully prepared for it. I hated the pretentiousness of the author and tone. It wasn't honest, or beautiful poetry as some claim. If this is what is considered a classic "must read" then we're in sad state.
