Leading health blogger Jimmy Moore and researcher and internist Dr. Eric C. Westman join forces again to explain the powerful therapeutic effects of a ketogenic diet—one that combines a customized carbohydrate restriction, moderation of protein intake, and real food-based fats—which is emerging in the scientific literature as a means for improving a wide range of diseases, from Type 2 diabetes to Alzheimer's and more. Simply eating a low-carb diet alone isn't enough, and Moore and Westman tell you why. Have you looked at a low-carb diet simply as a means to lose weight? What if you learned that combining a low-carb nutritional approach with a high fat intake produces a powerful therapeutic effect on a wide variety of health conditions that most people think requires medication to control? That’s what Keto Clarity is all about. Jimmy Moore, a leading low-carb diet blogger and podcaster, has reunited with his Cholesterol Clarity co-author Dr. Eric C. Westman, a practicing internist and low-carb diet researcher, to bring you the crystal-clear information you need to understand what a ketogenic diet is and why it may be the missing element in your pursuit of optimal health. This book includes exclusive interviews from twenty of the world's foremost authorities from various fields bringing their depth of expertise and experience using this nutritional approach. Moore and Westman explain why ketosis is normal and how this nutritional approach is being used therapeutically by many medical professionals. You will find a step-by-step guide to help you produce more ketones and track your progress, real life success stories, and more. The solid evidence for nutritional ketosis in dealing with many of the chronic health problems of our day is presented, including but not limited to: epilepsy, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome.

What a surprise! I was not expecting the information I received in this book. I have a family history of high cholesterol. Even with medication I've had a hard time keeping my numbers good. I've been referred to a Lipid Specialist and a Nutritionist. This book goes against everything I've been told by medical health professionals. I just had my annual checkup. I was hopeful about this information and tried to talk to my doctor about it the possibility of getting off Crestor and Zetia. Unfortunately he was not receptive. He insists on sticking to the traditional way of looking at and treating the numbers on my lipid panel. He said if I want to get off statins I need to do a better job of counting calories, reducing fat and getting more exercise., all while eating 6 meals/snacks a day to boost my metabolism. and come back for a recheck in a year. But I will continue to educate myself and take charge of my own health.

I've tried so many diets but they only work for a while. At age 58, I'm heavier now than I've ever been in my life. Being Obese is so restrictive. Its hard to have fun or even do simple things that are necessary for a normal like. I never thought of fasting to lose weight. I thought that would be an unwise crash diet that would just slow metabolism. I'm so grateful for the education provided in this book. I thought fasting would be like all day suffering. But I'm on my consecutive day of 24 hour fasts. so for 4 days I've simply skipped breakfast and lunch and enjoyed dinner with my family. I can't believe how easy it is. I'm not suffering at all. I have an appointment with my PCP next week and I will discuss trying longer fasts with him. I need a miracle to get this access weight off. I hope this is it.

It is wonderful that they escaped and are healing and making the best of their lives now that they are free. Even after knowing the truth it is still unimaginable. What strong young ladies. What a horrible, deceiving, cowardly man to do what he did to them and act as if it was their own fault. They should have never had to go through any of it!

Here, the man who started the "food revolution" with the million-plus-selling Diet for a New America, boldly posits that, collectively, our personal diet can save ourselves and the world. If, according to chaos theory, the beating of a butterfly's wing can cause a hurricane in another part of the world, try this out for chaotic cause and effect: monarch butterflies are dying in droves due to genetically-engineered corn growing in the Midwest. There is also a direct correlation between the Big Mac in your hand and the mile-wide river now running across the North Pole.

First I read How Not To Die, then The China Study. Now The Food Revolution. They have all been so informative. This one is especially an eye opener. I never thought I would become a vegetarian; certainly not a vegan. but when my 23 yr old son decided to give up animal products to lower his cholesterol, I became concerned about the usual misconceptions. Was he getting enough protein and calcium? He was already thin and at first he dropped weight quickly. I was sure he was losing muscle mass. So I ordered these books to learn how to support him and help him get adequate nutrition. Now I'm eating a whole food, plant based diet with him. His weight has leveled off and his cholesterol numbers are improving. I no longer believe the false advertising and lies of the dairy, meat, fast food and even the agricultural industries I am so grateful to have found doctors who are doing all they can to spread the truth. Thanks to this book I now understand that it is not only healthy for humans to consume a Whole Food, Plant Based Diet, but it is also healthier for our planet. I don't know how much of an impact I alone can have on helping our planet, but I believe I am about to change my own future and I feel responsible for doing whatever I can to improve the future of this planet which does all it can to sustain us. it's the least I can do.
