Would you listen to Little Princes again? Why?

Yes. The author is a superb story teller and made even small details interesting.

Have you listened to any of Conor Grennan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Maybe not. It isn't all that suspenseful. I think this is a book that should be savored over several sitting.

Any additional comments?

Even thought I gave this book 5 stars, I did think it was a bit slow in the beginning. But it did not take long to be completely hooked.

What would have made Rock with Wings better?

Having a different narrator would have helped. I have never given a narrator a poor rating before and I have listened to dozens of books, but this narration was really bad and made most of the Native-American characters sound dim-witted. The writing was also disappointing and predictable. Some of the lines were dreadful.

Has Rock with Wings turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I love the characters and was looking forward to the book.

Where does The Martian rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Certainly in the top ten.

What did you like best about this story?

Characterization

Any additional comments?

I only listened to this because of the reviews. I am glad I bothered to read the reviews because from the description I thought it would be boring. I thought there would be entirely too much science (and at times, there was more than I wanted); yet overall I found the book fascinating and suspenseful. So glad I read it.

What disappointed you about Leaving Time?

I felt "duped" or "played" by the ending. I don't want to give away the ending totally but it seemed a cheap shot. Rather like reading an exciting book, and then toward the end, the author reveals all has been a dream.

Any additional comments?

For the first 2/3rds or so of the book, I really liked it. I liked learning about elephants and the information was presented in a fascinating way and woven nicely in the story. No doubt the author is a gifted writer.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It took me many hours to get interested in the book. I probably wouldn't have stuck with the book if I had not been on a trip. But after getting interested, I thought the book was worth the time.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth McGovern’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Do you think The Chaperone needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No

It took me a while to get into this story, but it was well worth the time. Occasionally I would get bogged down in details, but by the end I thought it was one of the best books I have listened to.

This just never seemed to "come to life," and the characters never sounded real.

I did not want this one to end. The character development is masterful. The plot is slow to development, and the beauty of this book is found in the depth of the characters and their insights.

Although PK was a bit too perfect to be believable, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The reading was excellent, the pace good, and it always held my attention.
