Marty Kihn was the nicest guy in the world, until he got fed up with being passed over for promotions at work, tired of being suckered into walking his neighbor's dog, and sick of being disrespected by the man who sold him his morning coffee. On the day he turned 40, Kihn set out to transform himself from Mr. Nice Guy into a rule-breaking, power-mongering, Fox News-watching asshole.

Enlightening, real info

For all us 'nice guy' types out there, this is a great eye-opener. This book is entertaining but also gives a number of 'a-Ha' moments. Not meaning to really make you a real flaming jerk but just more aware of the game and 'rules' that most of the rest of the world operates by. And, it seems assholes win, so here's some advice that's worth listening to. Language is, of course, a bit strong for teens and below, but it's not crude or filthy.

The world is a mess. It seems that everywhere listeners turn, there's another problem. What is needed now are solutions. If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric, and fix everything. Then, if he was just able to put all of that insight into something that people could a store and, that would great. Wait a minute!

Scary Ending

Glenn's self-read audiobook was great, following along with his ADD-fast speech and occasional 'oh look a butterfly' distraction moments throughout. Most is comfortable and familiar, but with more depth than a half-hour TV show. However, the last chapter was a shocker, especially scary -- relating to the illegal immigration situation and his research (maybe I just missed that in the newspapers? I think that's the point!).

I heartily recommend this book; I'll leave the surprise to the listener to figure out.
