On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan's neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel's best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel's blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.

An excellent book to listen to as the reader really brings the characters to life by enhancing the author’s development by giving each their own unique voice. This series is excellent and if you haven’t listened to the entire series, I highly recommend it. This book has a unique storyline as you see a wannabe author fixate on another author’s work and tries to make it theirs. A well woven plot with interesting twists and turns!

This is the second book in the Pride series and it didn't disappoint! Each book seems to follows the life of the townsfolk of Pride, Oregon usually focusing on two characters in particular. In this one we follow as Lacey and Aaron start their relationship only to be bogged down by distrust, misunderstanding and a psychotic ex-fiancé bent on murder! The characters are well developed, both in personality traits and physical descriptions. The plot is woven to keep you entertained with just enough twists to enhance your enjoyment! While you can easily listen to this book without enjoying the first book, I'd recommend doubling your fun and listening to them in order. It will help build the foundation on which the characters are structured.
