Add to that, ghosts who show up out of thin air, warning her of a danger she won’t be able to outrun, and a freaking bevy of supernatural creatures hiding in the background, and Piper suddenly has her hands full.

Piper Lancaster is a ghost whisperer and a skeptic. Piper helps her clients settle their inner demons, and that's good enough for her, even if ghosts aren't real. But the astonishing reappearance of the ruins of the Lost Colony of Roanoke turns her world upside down. She's soon confronted with undeniable evidence and discovers Asheville's new resident demon intent on killing her and a handsome stranger who says she's the only one who can destroy it. Barely able to accept the complete reversal in her convictions, Piper must embrace her true identity before it's too late.

The narrator mispronounced a couple of the words which always distracts from the story. The last five chapters could have been wrapped up into one, a lot of fluff. A few of the supporting characters could have been developed a little more, but coming in at the third book may have been the reason. Overall good story. Will have to go back and read previous 2 novels to see if my opinion changes.

This book transports the reader back to an era that we all need to remember and keep in our hearts. only by remembering these times, can man avoid making those same hideous mistakes that he's made in the past. The idea that one race or skin color could be superior to another is product of a diseased mind and society. what an amazing story, and beautifully told. A young black slave of the South, accepting her circumstances, even embracing them, until she's awakened by events that will change her life and lives of so many others. Although a work of fiction, a true work of art.

The narration was good. Lost interest in the books in several places, but characters were believable. Always love a happy ending. Thus the 4 star rating. Would like to remove the word said from the authors vocabulary. And I'm sure narrator had to share that same thought. A nice series to read at bedtime, with predictable outcomes; not a lot to digest.

I had difficulty getting into the characters at first. The characters and story line developed at a slow pace initially. The relationship between Tony and Ian developed immediately. But then I did start with book 5 of the series just because of the season. The book contained the right balance of action packed battle with the sultry sizzling steam of romance. And in the end I found I enjoyed the story more than I initially expected. Would buy more from this Author in future. Narration was fantastic.

I've read the sookie stackhouse series and when I saw it available in audible I just couldn't resist. I was not dissappointed. Johanna Parker does an amazing job at bringing the characters to life. Charlaine's series has a little something for everyone; horror, mystery, blood, gore, and romance. What more could you need?
