Now a Level 10 ronin, Seiki is slowly coming to terms with the death of Master Tsujihara and his new life in Shinshioka. Spending his days in the Wilderness, he’s venting his remaining frustration while staying away from the city drama and those griefers, like the Rogami Clan, who had made his in-game experience so challenging thus far. He has even taken up a trade skill. But when he’s presented with an offer he can’t refuse and accepts a simple mission to deliver a message to Kano Castle, he quickly finds his troubles are only just beginning.

Perhaps the best LitRPG story I have come across. The focus is on the game and our group of protagonists.

Clay Cooper and his band were once the best of the best, the most feared and renowned crew of mercenaries this side of the Heartwyld. Their glory days long past, the mercs have grown apart and grown old, fat, drunk, or a combination of the three. Then an ex-bandmate turns up at Clay's door with a plea for help - the kind of mission that only the very brave or the very stupid would sign up for.

Great performance by the reader. It is a new spin on an always familiar genre, and that is hard to pull off. Do yourself a solid, listen to this audiobook, you will thank yourself later.

To be up front and honest, this is my genre. Romans, conquest, and drinking. That being said, this isn't a classic...it's the book that classics study and then they feel inadequate. I despise the antagonist and I fear for the protagonist. Is it possible for a book to accomplish more?
