I love this series, and I've read every book. yet I am growing frustrated with the progression of the story. at some point I would like to see some advanced starships defending earth. so I'm continuing to read this series because I love the characters, but for the love of the Sci-Fi Gods can we have some advanced tech for the humans.

Olan does a great job of writing a story that portrays the hardship of the people in this story. by the and of the war your cheering on the main characters and celebrating right along with them.

the story isn't to bad but its annoying that the technology in this story is so far off of the main Bethany Ann series. the author makes a big deal about the power of the battle suits. but back on earth Marcus was able to build a tiny etheric generator. so I don't understand why the tech for the ethiric federation is so poor. its like all the good tech only exist in the original series. other then the tech that I find annoying. this story was pretty good.

if you like romance then this book is for you, because this book has little else. the world building needs work. the sad thing is that the magic system is unique and could have been good. but the romance gets in the way. I couldn't get through the whole book I got 65% through and there was maybe 2% of magic in the story the rest was romance. I don't mind romance really but not at the expense of the story or world. if the author spent more time to build the characters this could have been a great story.
