I loved this rendition of the story with its background noises. It made me think I was watching it as the sounds with the excellent narration of the text painted the picture so clearly. I will definitely be relistening!

Experience the awesomeness of my unexpected voyage to an undiscovered land where I survive shipwrecks, arena death match spectacles, rampaging rhinoceraptors, naked and rather surly giants, and even dragons! Well, a dragon.... All in my pursuit of fame and glory. Every word of it is true. Totally true. How do I know? Because it's all about me. Gustav Gustavson, Legendary Viking Warrior.

I saw a review for this on my facebook feed and had to grab it for myself. I love Viking adventurers. One of the best things about this book is the way it is written. It is very engaging as the hero of the tale regularly talks to us the listeners which is a great way to be a part of the fabric of the story. I do hope there will be another!

But I am ever so glad I dived right in and got this audio book.

TCP is a darker YA (dare I say romance?), and you will love it for this very reason.

The hero is every bit as cruel as the title. But was he born that way or nurtured to be that? Your guess is as good as mine, but I am leaning toward thinking he acts the way he does because it's expected. You must do the expected to hide in plain sight in fairy.

The heroine is every bit as clever, strong-willed, and fierce as you would want her to be. She's the catalyst and as Locke notices - there's a story there with her which we will all want to be a part of because it is going to be a wild ride. She knows what bargains in faerie mean, but sometimes you have to make them even against your better judgement.

Wicked King was amazing. Caitlin Kelly is an excellent voice match to the setting and tone of this story. I love all her voices and paired with Holly Black's words I was instantly transported and sucked straight into the story. I raced through the audio book even as I wanted to linger, dreading reaching the end and having to wait for the third book in the series. Honestly, I'm on the edge of my seat for Queen of Nothing and you will be too.... Holly Black is going to drowning in our pleas for a fast release.

I can't hardly believe half the things that happened in this novel. The biggest and best scenes are so essential to the story it's hard to even mention them without spoiling listeners.

Chapter 15 has some goodies that will make you squeal in delight. I did!

There's two weddings - and the second one will also please readers enormously. Be sure when it happens you listen very carefully. I think the wording of the vows will be important to the next book.

A character's capture will have you on the edge of your seat with worry... so much worry. It's a good thing I don't have a nervous habit or I would have been indulging it.

Jude's cleverness will awe and inspire you as she figures out how to not only survive but to make moves and take names.

The ending --- holy moly that ending! Power plays, betrayals, it all comes to a head and erupts scattering everything you think you know to the wind.

I have so many high hopes for the last book. I can't wait for everyone to catch up so we can gab without worrying about spoilers.

I really love how the side characters are portrayed in this romance. I love how the heroine is taken right into the bosom of the family home and treated like she's been there from the start. If only she didn't put herself into clearly dangerous situations time and again. Good thing the hero is around to save her!
