Not only does this bring a voice to Christy Mathewson's century old baseball classic book, PITCHING IN A PINCH, this audiobook contains over 100 pages (SIX HOURS!!!!) of all new never before published in book form material written by the great Matty himself. It is fascinating and a terrific listen for anyone who loves baseball or American history. I can't wait for the other planned releases in this new Mathewson Foundation reprint series including the brand new books BATTING IN A BREAK and MANAGING IN A MOMENT. This is definitive Christy Mathewson biographical material and should not be missed by any fan of the American pastime.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

I came across this author quite by accident because of a suggestion from a friend to read his other novel Bear Town. I couldn't be more thrilled. Fredrik Backman has a knack for The Human Condition and an incredible way of expressing emotions and feelings. This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it.

Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter is as unconventional and wide-ranging as Frank Deford's remarkable career, in which he has chronicled the heroes and the characters of just about every sport in nearly every medium. Deford joined Sports Illustrated in 1962, fresh, and fresh out of Princeton. In 1990, he was Editor-in-Chief of The National Sports Daily, one of the most ambitious and ill-fated projects in the history of American print journalism.

Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and more come to life in the words and voices of the men who knew and played with them. Should be required for any history class .... not just baseball. An utterly fascinating listen!

this was a good book and interesting and the performance of the audiobook was excellent. But after seeing all the reviews I was led to believe that this would be an epic classic for the ages. It was just an interesting story with a lot of Gore and graphic violence. It was interesting and threw me back to a time that I didn't know much about and a place. But as for being a classic? Not so much. I found it long and tedious in parts but well written and as I said before very well performed.

In November 2014, 13 members of the Biden family gathered on Nantucket for Thanksgiving, a tradition they had been celebrating for the past 40 years; it was the one constant in what had become a hectic, scrutinized, and overscheduled life. The Thanksgiving holiday was a much-needed respite, a time to connect, a time to reflect on what the year had brought, and what the future might hold. But this year felt different from all those that had come before.

It is not bitter. It is not sad. It is an inspiration. It is only a shame that she is not our president now.
