Would you listen to The Good House again? Why?

Yes, but not so soon after listening the first time. This story is heavy and the listening to the book is like traveling on a long trip. Enjoyable but It can tire you out! But I would definitely take that journey another time.

What did you like best about this story?

The author succeeded with being able to make sure that each character's perspective is understood. There was no room for judgement. The mystery and suspense was in balance with the love and family.

What does Robin Miles bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Robin Miles.... awesome. Natural cadence and flow throughout.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

it would be.... "do you believe?"

Any additional comments?

No lies, I ran away from this book plenty of times. But when I was ready for it, it was ready for me. You will not be disappointed.

Well written plot and spending much time on character development allows the reader to truly understand the actions the characters choose to take. Well done Mr. Johnson, Well done!

What other book might you compare Echoes of a Distant Summer to and why?

None. (Except for the first book Standing at the Scratch Line).

What about Peter Jay Fernandez’s performance did you like?

One of my favorite narrators, he has yet to prove me wrong, I love his pace, delivery, and how he draws you into the story.

What did you love best about Standing at the Scratch Line?

This is a story that has never been told, and told so well. It takes on stereotypes and challenges them, especially in regards to how African-American families do not support each other. This story is all about family and one man's quest to create a successful legacy for his lineage. Its sincere, cut-throat, thought provoking, challenging, and just damn good!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course, King Tremain. Strength, family values, passion, reciprocity, don't take no mess from nobody...

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to choose one!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You 'best say Joe 'cause you sho' don't know!"

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to start and finish Echoes of a Distant Summer... the legacy lives on!

What did you like best about Sleeping with Strangers? What did you like least?

I like the character development. The author takes his time creating the backdrop of the characters which underscored their actions through out the story. I did not like the general pace. I felt some areas were drawn on too long, and some elements rushed. Also, the story was somewhat predictable. I was also upset about the ending and have not rushed to listen to Waking with Enemies, which is the sequel.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was enjoyable, but..... I it could have been better. Yes, this is a fiction, but it seemed unrealistic at times and overly sensationalized.

What does Dion Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dion Graham is the reason why I did not stop the story.

Was Sleeping with Strangers worth the listening time?

It helped me to pass time; it wasn't a book that I sought out to listen to quickly. I had to take breaks from it.
