I very rarely write a review. And this book was so well written. And so imaginative, that the characters and story felt real . The narrator did a remarkable job with ALL the characters. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys good literature. I wish I knew about this book in 1983 , when it was published. I would have read it for my English literature class.

Loved every minute of it! finished in 3 days!
it's very different from all the apocalyptic books I have read. Was very pleasantly surprised. If you enjoy witches fairies and other sci-fi phenomenon. You would enjoy Year One.

This series captivated me from the beginning!!I'm guessing, that this will be a trilogy.? you have to read the first book " Into The Light". To Enjoy the all the twist and turns the series delivers. it's a tale of manipulation, distrust, and passion.
the author did a good job with the female character Stella aka Sara. A strong willed woman turned obedient. And the male character Jacob, who is part of the lights commission. who is Noble and just. All the characters and the story, are well bulit. The way everything is described, are easy to imagine.
I would suggest this series to anyone. who enjoys to be on the edge of there seat!
one more thing, awesome Narration!

This book had an interesting summary.. But it took forever to get to the point.. It took every once of patients to finish this book.. I usually like books with eccentric characters with psychic abilities. I have to say the summary is the best part of this book. It reminds me of a movie preview. You pay the money to see this great movie, and all the best parts where in the trailer...
The book is about 2 sisters with psychic abilities, but one of the sisters does everything in her power to diminish her abilities. And it's the complete opposite with the other sister who is eccentric and proud to be a medium.
Violet the sister who is the medium predicts an earthquake.. She goes as far as to publicly admit to the prediction. And this prediction eventually brings the two sisters together.. BORING!!1
