With deadlines looming, Joe heads to a nearby nursing home to find a willing subject. There he meets Carl Iverson, and soon nothing in Joe's life is ever the same. Carl is a dying Vietnam veteran-and a convicted murderer. With only a few months to live, he has been medically paroled to a nursing home after spending thirty years in prison for the crimes of rape and murder.

Overall the book was good and much as one would expect of a romance novel. It did seem as if the author was uncomfortable using 'locker room talk' between the guys and honestly should have left that out instead of trying to make it work

I love the change from past to present and the fact the author kept to form and was not afraid to touch on hard topics and the greed of others. The narrator did an excellent job with subject voices. You aleays knew who was talking and what time frame yiu were in
