This book plants the seed to allow God to start the life changing process. I'm a huge fan of I'm Number 8 and although I want compare the two because I still listen and read to that one but he didn't slack at all with his second book. Pastor Gray gives it to you raw and uncut as he says the uncompromising truth. If you listen to this with a open heart and mind you will be challenged through conviction not condemnation.

He comes right out the gate dealing with the inner man and speaking about his marriage. As I've listen to this on Audible I plan on listening again and again as well as reading the physical book because it's so much wisdom and places God is taking me through these words in my life. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did and yes I'm a big follower of John Gray but as my dad teaches me through his messages "follow me as I follow Christ stay with sound doctrine" and that's the key reason I love this material.

This book is amazing and I feel everyone should read it. I have a entire new perspective on Love not just being a word but action. Bob carefully tells a story and then backs it by the action he took and what he learned. It’s real because he’s also telling you what he really felt but we always have to keep the big picture at heart!

Some things could be challenged with scripture and revelation or I would like to get a better understanding myself but it's definitely worth it. Long but easy to follow for the most part. It will definitely make you evaluate what I'm truly here for and I'm I taking the necessary steps to get there as well as following God while I do it.

Do you ride the escalator or do you take the stairs? No matter how you define success, it always requires one thing: self-discipline. But as popular speaker and strategist Rory Vaden explains, we live in an "escalator world", one that's filled with shortcuts, quick fixes, and distractions that make it all too easy to slide into procrastination, compromise, and mediocrity. What seems like an easier path is really much harder in the end - and, most important, it won't take you where you want to go.

By forcing us to apply a more selective criteria for what is Essential, the disciplined pursuit of less empowers us to reclaim control of our own choices about where to spend our precious time and energy - instead of giving others the implicit permission to choose for us. Essentialism is not one more thing - it’s a whole new way of doing everything. It’s about doing less, but better, in every area of our lives. Essentialism is a movement whose time has come.
