When ex-marine Georgia Bennett left the military for high-end private security, it was supposed to soften her snarky attitude. Instead, her short fuse just earned her a punishment of an assignment: protect smart-ass tech genius and Department of Defense contractor Parker Livingston. It should have been easy - only no one warned Georgia that Parker was one seriously drop-dead-gorgeous geek.

Defenseless is a perfect meld of suspense and romance. The main characters Georgia and Parker keep a lively banter that is humorous and a touch snarky. I love how Georgia is the bodyguard. She is smart and capable, assured of herself. Parker is great in that he isn't the typical anti social, ungrateful brainiac. Somehow on the run from bad guys, they still manage to bring out the best in each other. I really enjoyed the suspense and the twists. Trying to follow the layers of government intrigue, power plays, and personal gains kept me on my toes. Aiden Snow does a wonderful job narrating the different parts and adding the heightened emotions of the scene & overall suspense. I enjoyed this enough to immediately seek out the next book in the series.

It’s not fair that only males get to go out and pillage the universe. Being born a female automatically means staying home and birthing the next generation of warriors. Azteriya has other plans. She has a dream of traveling the galaxy and exploring strange new worlds. Fighting fierce foes. Of clubbing a viable male to bring home to her mother so that her transgression is forgiven.

This was brilliant! When a stubborn, single minded woman decides that she has had enough of parental control, things get dangerous. Azteriya was perfect with how naïve she really was and Jedrick, man of hair, was an excellent antagonist to her. Together, they get in a lot of danger. I was rolling when TED was introducing himself and talking about FRED. The snippets with Azteriya's father were great too. He had awesomely sound advice that Azteriya kept following throughout.

Marie Smith did a wonderful job with the voices and carrying the intonation – whether it was Azteriya, "mother" doing her disapproving comments, or the captors, or even the bland ship voices. It was a joy to listen to her bespell the story. Definitely credit worthy!

The first thought I had when I started this audiobook is that the caveat was actually read about the story and characters being fiction and not real. I had to snort, knowing that anyone thinking that something dreamed up from the mind of Ms. Langlais might resemble someone/something. That a floating octo-creature speaking in blurps might be mistaken for someone you know made me laugh. From there, the story just got interesting with all of the characters and twists. I loved how Michi's family was family no matter how bad or good they were. And the CHOCOLATE!! OMG, it was a great take on the chocolate. Damon was perfect as the First Mate and his attitude towards Michi.

Logan McAllister did a fine job with the narration, the different voices, tones and such. The narration did start off a little on the slow part. I'm a 1.0 speed listener. But as the action got moving, things were good. There were parts where when it was more narrative, that the story did seem to flatten out while listening.

Overall, the humor and wit that I've come to expect from Ms. Langlais' stories was definitely present with a side of space opera romance. I enjoyed listening to the First Mate's Accidental Wife.

Desert fox shifter Ella Kitt is better at risking her life than her heart. Not that she expects to do either when she flies to Maui to help her special forces comrades with an easy security job. Or maybe not such an easy job, because she’s forced to work - and live - in close quarters with smoking-hot army hero Jake McBride. Jake isn’t just the one-night stand she can’t forget - he’s also a human, totally off-limits to shifters of her kind.

Jake is down right, take home to momma drool worthy. Ella was a darling. Her conflict and her back & forth with her fox was drawn out and dramatic. There was quite a bit of action with the story. It was a good way to wrap up the series. There was a tidbit of each of the guys and their mates. While there was a lot more that we could have learned about the bad guys, I was happy that the story wasn’t dragged down with details about the hows and wheres of the bad guys.

Kelsey Osborn continues the streak as the awesome narrator in bringing these stories to life. She creates the story in front of you bringing the words off of the pages in story teller style. Drawing the listener in as if sitting in front of her.

As the last in the series, it was still completely stand alone. Hopefully we won’t have to leave the beaches of Hawaii for long.

This was the perfect book to start off in audio for the series! Okay, it's also the first in the series. BUT, OMG! You have to listen to this, it will leave you in a perfect mood. Have a commute to work – listen to this! Have house work, listen to this!, Have family you want to ignore - listen to this! The narrator, Diane Lehman, brought the perfect inflection and tone to life. Just as it would sound in my head if I were to read it myself.

And the book, what a riot! A mean ol' dragon that that wants to be loved for his art meets his match with a sassy business woman. Angie is perfect as the woman who is just getting by, doesn't need anyone to give her any crap & doesn't want someone to see any of her real issues. Her spunk and level of sarcasm are just perfect to take on a dragon.

I felt a connection to Angie from the opening lines. After all, her day started much like a normal day rush that we all contend with everyday! From that point forward, I kept cheering for her and could certainly see how "life gets in the way" This was a fun romp with hawt shifters, misunderstandings, and flip-flops.

FINALLY - Silas' story! I have been waiting for this since the first book. There is no way that I imagined how Silas was going to resolve his love with Moira. Not only did I love how this played out, but there turned out to be more depth in both Silas and Moira than expected. Cassandra is such a strong personality, it is no surprise that she ends up in the middle of a dragon war. I really enjoyed her interactions with the others and her addition to Kao Point.

The narrator, Kelsey Osborne, has recently become one of my new favorites for the way that she spins the story in a true storyteller manner – as if you were sitting in front of her listening as she draws the magic of the words out. When I started listening I did find that I wanted to slow the speed down. (I'm generally a 1.0x speed listener). The beginning of Love of the Dragon was like when a someone is over excited and wants to get something out as fast as they can to you. It got better as the story progressed. It was still fast paced when there were points of danger or heightened awareness. As the end of the story built up and was resolved, everything was at a pretty good pace for me personally. I enjoyed the overall story and narration.

Grumpy Cruz finds his mermaid! Cruz was a hard nut to crack. He's always been a gruff man that doesn't trust well. In prior books, he is always the sullen one that doesn't like or want to be around people. This book gave a new view of him. I liked this Cruz the best of all versions we have seen. Kelsey Osborn continues to bring these stories to life in vivid imagination color. I can't imagine discovering Cruz through another narrator.

Cruz is holding on to his past. Jody is pure sunshine. No matter how bad the stakes or the obstacles, she shines and reaches out to the future by living now. It might be that opposites attract, Cruz's dark and stormy persona and Jody's bright and happy attitude. This book definitely brought out the best. The only sad part is that with one more shifter finding his love, the closer the series is to the end.

We also get a bigger teaser about Silas.. happy jazzy hands! There is enough meat on the teases to make you want to beg for Silas' story. Which I have been waiting for since the very first book.

This book was great. It was a gentle and charming tale of a mature woman and how she deals when life gets in her way. I appreciated that it wasn't about some fresh 20 something. This is a lady who has those mean relatives that we all have, a marriage that isn't so spectacular and a daughter that thinks she knows more than her mom.

The slow roll of the story was soothing and made for an excellent commuting drive. I was a little unhappy with the conversations and reactions of Trudy and her daughter at Christmas time. Overall, it was a good portrayal of getting up and dusting off when life hits.

He had to find his way into her heart without understanding her. Georgia is a woman with a goal in mind for her future. And that goal isn't falling for a man. Georgia was a great mix of independent kick butt with just enough softness and gentleness. Mason Lloyd is an excellent narrator choice for these stories. Rocky is the second in the Stargazer series.
