What made the experience of listening to Valkyrie Rising the most enjoyable?

The growth of the main character is well done as well as the introduction of some new characters. This is done smoothly without forgetting the secondary characters that were introduced in On Silver Wings. I suppose what, to me, was most enjoyable was the flow of the story without losing the momentum of the tale as the world broadens and forms into a larger tale.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I simply love the main character, I love her strength and her willingness to learn, but I think that Evan Currie has done a fabulous job with all of the characters he has introduced into the wonderful world he has created.

Which character – as performed by Dina Pearlman – was your favorite?

Dina Pearlman has done a very good job with each of the characters she brings to life in this interesting tale. I'm partial to the main character but have to say she does well with them all. It makes it hard to pick favorites when each character is so well written and placed.

Any additional comments?

Over all Valkyrie Rising rises to the occasion and continues to keep the readers and listeners enthralled and waiting to see what the next episode will reveal. Well done to both, Evan Currie and Dina Pearlman.

Would you consider the audio edition of On Silver Wings to be better than the print version?

The audio version is a good companion to the print version and easily interchangeable when going from stationary to mobile and still wanting to be wrapped in the tale that is being told.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On Silver Wings?

On Silver Wings capture the reader from the beginning and does a good job of introducing the reader to the main character and feel of the world. I think the most memorable moment for me right after the introduction of the main character and learning her flaws along side her strength. I was interested right away and wanted to see where it would go from there, basically you could say I was hooked from the start.

Have you listened to any of Dina Pearlman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to Dina Pearlman's orations before but I am interested in hearing more of her from different writes. She does a very good job of flowing from one character to another as well as from situation to another. To me, the best compliment I can give to Ms Pearlman is that she is fluid and reads a story like I hear it in my head. I know that sounds a little silly to most but to me that is the ultimate compliment to an orator simply because I am a voracious reader and I live the stories I read, I see them in living color when the author does the job that is worthy of the reading.

Any additional comments?

Over all I enjoyed On Silver Wings and look forward to the rest of the story as it plays out in the following books to this series. Evan Currie made a good start in the world and character building here and I believe will become one of the preferred Psi-Fi authors in years to come.

Where does Candide (AudioGO Edition) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Candide ranks fairly high on the list. It is what it is, enjoyable story with its ironic absurdities and yet it has the ability to make you think.

What other book might you compare Candide (AudioGO Edition) to and why?

This story really is incomparable with anything I have read. I think what I like about it is that it is so different from my usual choice of literature. I seemed to keep waiting to see what misfortune the poor Candide would walk into next and wondered how long the poor fellow could keep up his optimism or if he simply was just "that" naive!

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when he realized his lady love was still alive and well and upon realization they both fainted!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

hard to really pin down one spot, as there were several moments that ran a gambit of emotions from annoyance to disgust to humor. It was just simply a fun read.

Any additional comments?

It has been years since I have read Candide and it was well worth listening to Jack Davenport tell the tale. It was a very enjoyable listen.

Where does Green Rider rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Green Rider is a well loved tale and ranks somewhere near the top for me. This is the first in the series of I think 5 books and is a wonderful introduction to the characters and world Kristen Britain has built.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Green Rider?

The moment where Keri meets Frian and begins her adventure, or maybe the "Berry" sisters, or the Wild Ride ... Hmmmm .. maybe the Wild Ride! There are lots of wonderful moments to keep the reader/listener rapt up in the tale.

What about Ellen Archer’s performance did you like?

Ellen Archer is a talented story teller and does a fine job of telling this tale. She is not as smooth as Eloise Oxer but more crisp in her manner of speaking. I think readers will find this quite an enjoyable listening experience with Ellen Archer's narration style.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I'm a greedy listener and have a hard time walking away from a good tale and this is most certainly a wonderful tale indeed! So suffice it to say that yes indeed I wanted to listen to it in just one sitting! :)

Any additional comments?

Kristen Britain and Ellen Archer do make a winning combination and Green Rider is truly a story that will keep the audience captivated.

Would you consider the audio edition of Nero's Fiddle to be better than the print version?

A true bibliophile at heart, I love a good story wether told by a wonderful story teller of read from the tactile pages of a good book! The only downfall to E-Lit is that the editing generally is left lacking. There are a few errors in the editing to the E-version here which the oral version does not share, but all-in-all the story itself is a true gem of steampunk fun.

What did you like best about this story?

Hmmm .. what I liked best ... ahhh... there is much revealed inside this tale and as to what all it is I will not spoil it for the reader/listener. Suffice it to say that there are many unexpected twists and turns and quite a lot of enlightenment in this 3rd installment of the Artifact Hunters series. I truly love that A.W. Exley will always keep you guessing and Gemma Dawson will always draw you in with her wonderful gift of the telling!

What does Gemma Dawson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gemma Dawson simply has a wonderful way of magicking you into the story and holding you enraptured to the very end. She brings the characters and the world to life around her audience. Gemma is a true gem and the listeners are all the richer for the fact we are able to enjoy the gift of her story telling!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are several moments that really make this story so wonderful but my favorite is a moment between Nan and Nessy. There are a few actually and I will leave it to the audience to pick their own.

Any additional comments?

I am most certainly looking forward to the 4th and final installment of the Artifact Hunters series, Moseh's Staff, which is rumored to be coming out in April 2015 and I do indeed hope that Gemma Dawson will again be the voice of the story! I am so looking forward to more magical worlds from A.W. Exley in the near future.

I have both the e-version and the audible, the reader makes the story if there is a story from the start. Here you have both! A.W.Exley is and amazing writer and Gemma Dawson is an amazing story teller!

What did you like best about this story?

A.W.E.... Now isn't that just apropos when you read it like that .. A . W . Exley has opened an AWE-some and mysteriously wonderful world with the Artifact Hunters series. I love the character building and the world building of this writer. The story is enjoyable and exciting with characters you love to love and love to hate and a tale that will totally keep you engaged throughout the entire tale!

What does Gemma Dawson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gemma Dawson brings a reading style that makes the listener crave more! I love listening to storytellers that bring you into a story as if you are standing in the "story-world" itself! Ms. Dawson does this and I look forward to listening to more work from her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nefertiti's Heart is an exciting and fun trip into the steampunk world of magic mechanicals and mayhem. There are so many instances when the heart rate rises or you feel the pangs of heart ache that you can't help but be engaged throughout the entire tale!

Any additional comments?

I totally look forward to more from both A.W. Exley and Gemma Dawson in the future! They are truly well matched when it comes to story writing and story telling and all I can say is ... They are MAGIC!

Where does The Naming rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The Naming ranks right up near the top of my list of favorites! The reader does a fabulous job of engaging the listener and the story captivates you from the very beginning.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Naming?

The most memorable moment for me is the first introduction to Cadvan in the milking barn where Maerad realizes she can see what others can not yet is nonplussed as to why. It really seems to mark the true beginning of the adventure.

Which character – as performed by Eloise Oxer – was your favorite?

Jeez please do NOT ask me to pick a favorite! Eloise Oxer is an amazing story teller and does such a wonderful job that you are simply invited into the world of Pellinor and you hardly realize you are not there yourself!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are a series of moments that particularly moved me in this first story of Pellinor. The first was the first meeting with Maerad and Cadvan and their tacit connection from the start, then later when Maerad senses the need to go into the plains and finds Hem. Finally the moment of realization when she discovers that Hem is Cai, her long lost brother and age understands that deep feeling of connection she has felt from their first meeting. It is simply a beautiful connection that is portrayed seamlessly and wonderfully done by the writer Alison Croggon.

Any additional comments?

This is as simply as I can put it, a wonderful epic saga that will be worth the reading and it will enrich the reader for every second he or she spends lost in the wonderful world of Pellinor!
