It began on New Year's Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world's population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magic rose up in its place. Some of it is good, like the witchcraft worked by Lana Bingham, practicing in the loft apartment she shares with her lover, Max.

Got this book as a pre-release to give a review. I had to buy audible version as reading the book was giving me nightmares. I loved the version in audible form. This book will tug at your heart strings, make you laugh, make you cry, rip out your heart and really make you think. I absolutely loved it.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book really was not for me. Maybe younger generation? It seems people love it or hate it. I couldn't even finish it.

What was most disappointing about Jay Kristoff’s story?

metaphors? all of it? I can't say it was a bad book or bad writing, it just was not for me.

Which scene was your favorite?

Didn't have a favorite scene, but I must say it was when I deleted it from my phone. That scene was great.

Any additional comments?

The narrator was good, I think I would like to see who else he reads for.

There are a lot of monsters in Anita Blake's life. And some of them are human. One such individual is the man she calls Edward, a bounty hunter who specializes in the preternatural. He calls her to help him hunt down the greatest evil she has ever encountered - something that kills and maims and vanishes into the night. Something Anita will have to face alone.

Would you try another book from Alyssa Rose Ivy and/or Amy Rubinate?

Maybe read the book by Alyssa Rose Ivy, but I don't think I could handle listening to Amy Rubinate. I think I am spoiled by Ellen Archer. Amazing narrator.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Hostage. Kay Hooper..lets hope for a good narrator

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy Rubinate?

Ellen Archer!!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story may be good, but I honestly could not get past the sound of the narrators voice. It just grated on my nerves.
