"The Lion" will be landing. And at New York's JFK Airport, an elite American task force waits as the notorious Libyan terrorist prepares to defect to the West. Then, aboard Flight 175, something goes eerily, horribly wrong - a mere prelude to the terror that is to come. Ex-NYPD cop, now Federal Task Force agent John Corey - together with his formidable and beautiful new partner, Kate Mayfield - will follow a trail of smoke and blood across the country. His quarry: a foe with the cunning of a lion and all the bloodlust of a man.

Great book, and great narration. The sound track is really obnoxious, and really makes for a difficult listen. It seems so random and out of place. Scott Brick is a top notch narrator, one of the best in the business. There’s no need to undermine his work with a trash soundtrack (any sound track).

This was one of the more boring of the Mitch Rapp stories so far. Not that it matters I’m fully on board and will continue my binge listening.

There was one part of this story that was masterful, and made me smile for the first time in the series. Don’t want to spoil anything, you’ll know it when you hear it. The personalization of Mitch and his new bride brought depth to the character

A natural storyteller and raconteur in his own right - just listen to Paddle Your Own Canoe and Gumption - actor, comedian, carpenter, and all-around manly man Nick Offerman ( Parks and Recreation) brings his distinctive baritone and a fine-tuned comic versatility to Twain's writing. In a knockout performance, he doesn't so much as read Twain's words as he does rejoice in them, delighting in the hijinks of Tom - whom he lovingly refers to as a "great scam artist" and "true American hero".

On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

You live in your dream house, but there's no mortgage. No alarm clock, no boss, no bills. No claims on the day's time other than what you choose. It is making more money before breakfast than you made for an entire week at your last job. It is a crazy expensive car parked in your garage, a victorious symbol that your dreams no longer sleep in fantasies, but are awake with reality.

DeMarco's first book Millionaire Fastlane changed my life. It's one of the best books ever written on the subject. This book, not so much. It's boring, and the message has been covered by much better authors.

The narration is below average, but professional quality. Just very little life.

Overall this book is a real letdown. Hopefully this very talented author won't phone it in on his next book, of which I will buy solely on the strength of Millionaire Fastlane.

In addition to escaping handcuffs, picking locks, and spotting when someone is telling a lie, he can improvise a self-defense weapon, pack a perfect emergency kit, and disappear off the grid if necessary.
