I recently had a dialogue with my pastor discussing whether or not children should be included in the service to listen to the sermon. He provided me with a critique of family driven faith and the integrated church model.

I took that as a recommendation to read this book because you can’t critique a book without knowing it’s context. Having read the book I love it! I highly recommend it. I found that I disagreed with several points in my pastors critique of the book largely because they are starting from two different locations. The starting point matters.

You are not going to arrive where Voddie Baucham wants to take you if you don’t start from where he starts. The blocks only stack up nicely if you grant as true the first 3/4 of the book. If you start from where you’re at you will reject large portions of this book.

The narrator did a fantastic job at sounding like the author.

A wonderful treatment of the right and godly use of sarcasm.
Just because you have only seen the wrong Way to use sarcasm, doesn’t mean that it can’t be used rightly.
Highly recommend for all those who cant help but laugh at the ridiculousness of modern Christianity.

Helens reading of this book with her true to life Yorkshire accent makes all the difference in the world.

This wonderful coming of age story highlights the beauty and magic of God’s created world and that he is still creating.
