Defense lawyer Andy Carpenter is reluctant to take on more cases. He’d rather spend his time working for his dog rescue organization. However, when a truck carrying more than 70 dogs from the South to the Northeast turns up with a murdered driver, Andy can’t help but get involved. Andy is eager to help the dogs, but it’s the man accused of murder who he has a problem defending. The accused happens to be his wife Laurie’s ex-fiance. Even though he acknowledges having argued with the victim, he swears that he is not a killer, and Andy has to admit he believes he's telling the truth.

David Rosenfelt has written yet another book I throughly enjoyed! I'm so glad he has kept his "regulars" in the story again. The book was well thought out, planned, plotted and well written. The humor is executed marvelously again by Grover Gardner whose voice can only be Andy Carpenters in my mind. My husband enjoys the series too! Keep up the awesomeness David!

The story takes the reader/listener to Mexico and it doesn't have all the usual characters from Wyoming which makes it different, but it kept me listening and I must say it's very good. C. J.'s descriptive writing of the people and places south of the border were excellent and it takes the reader/listener right there!

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

If you want to listen to a book about fashion, fancy cars, exquisite meals, high society parties and the like for most of the story, this book is you. The book dragged on and on, was sort of confusing jumping from unmarried Nellie to married Nellie. I listened to the whole thing hoping it would get better, it finally did on the last few chapters. However, the narrator was awesome!

This story was very good! I liked all the characters and their descriptions. Evilness finally gets it's come up ins. I like revenge stories and where there is a nice resolve at the end. There was a few very descriptive gory parts, but were necessary to convey the "bad guys" as truly evil. Nicely written, amazing narrator.

Very enthralling story of revenge. Not for the faint of heart, though. Not only was the story well rounded, but I could see this as an action movie. Very descriptive writing, details that helped visualize each setting. Navy Seal insight that I didn't know and a conspiracy that could probably happen with government and military officials. Very good listen especially with Ray Porter as the narrator. He is so good!! I recommend this book to those who like conspiracy thrillers!
