On the planet Tython, the ancient Je’daii order was founded. And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy. Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency.

Of course I enjoyed it, but it seemed a little phoned in compared to all the other books. Like the author was bored with the story and didnt really want to finish it because he is focused on something different now. Like Plague of Giants. I get that to a point, but the Iron Druid is what made him, and been the bread and butter for a few years now. Its a shame he turned his back on it right at the end. It could have been so much better if his heart were in it.

Perhaps that rubbed off on luke Daniels as well, he also didnt seem like his heart was in it. Couldn't tell a difference between the voice of Atticus and Granuaile, only hint was the location of the story. Not sure if he didn't refresh his memory on which voice he used for which character. But seems since it was the last book both the Author and the Narrator took a break.

Taking place nearly a century before the events of A Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms compiles the first three official prequel novellas to George R. R. Martin's ongoing masterwork, A Song of Ice and Fire. Before Tyrion Lannister and Podrick Payne, there were Dunk and Egg. A young, naïve, but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals - in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg - whose true name (hidden from all he and Dunk encounter) is Aegon Targaryen.

This is a New world being built by the author and different from most others I have read/listened to. As Such I was very confused for the first third of this book.

However once I started to understand the workings and physics in this world it made sense....so I started over with this better understanding. Hang in there because it is totally worth it. Some things don't make a lick of sense when they are happening but it all comes together in a mind blowing series you wont be able to put down. and each book in the series only gets better. Tons of characters and plot lines all happening at once in a symphony of words.

please fight through the frustration of your confusion in the beginning, it makes the reward that much sweeter!
