Since moving to Mystic Harbor, Maine, I've made it my life's mission to avoid Reese Blackburn at all costs. Sure, he has cheekbones that could cut glass, not to mention bedroom eyes that could melt any girl into a puddle on the floor. Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's completely stab-worthy. When a fun night out on the town turns deadly, I quickly discover the quaint little hamlet of Mystic Harbor houses more than sandy beaches and adorable B&Bs. Beneath the New England charm rests a world where shifters, demons, vampires, and angelic hunters all vie for power.

I could barely finish this book. It was boring! I found myself daydreaming about other things while listening... even during the parts that were supposed to be exciting.

I really, really don't like the narrator of Caleb. This is a big issue because he's a main character. The story itself is on point though! I do like all of the other narrators.

I really wanted/tried to like this book but It was pretty ridiculous. It cannot be compared to twilight as another commenter suggested nor is it in the realm of the feverborn series as I thought it might be. By the way, if you haven't read that series, you should! Anyway, it was really scripted and kind of "gag-worthy" in my opinion a couple times. At the epilogue though I am still a little hopeful that the second book will be worthy of my time. Meh... I'll think about it.

Ember Hill left the dragon organization Talon to take her chances with rebel dragon Cobalt and his crew of rogues. But Ember can't forget the sacrifice made for her by the human boy who could have killed her - Garret Xavier Sebastian, a soldier of the dragon-slaying Order of St. George, the boy who saved her from a Talon assassin, knowing that by doing so he'd signed his own death warrant.

This series isn't nearly as exciting as Julie's Iron Fay series. There were a couple of good parts but way too many dull parts for my liking.
