Great story, and great narration. Will definitely recommend. Can’t wait to read other books by this author and narrator.

Really like this story. Although there are some issues with silly character names, I think the story stands up pretty well. I'm looking forward to the next book. Well worth the credit!

Performance was good as always, but...

I actually stopped listening towards the end. James just hasn't grown as a character and when he did something that took me out of the book, again, and made me stop suspending belief in a work of fiction, I couldn't take it anymore.

I have listened to all of the undying mercenary books and this started to become a problem several back. Something has kept the author from allowing the main character to develop personally and professionally to such an extent it has become too hard to relate and thus too difficult to cheer for. It's sad for me because I had hoped to come back to these books and find something other than the exact same story retold with a slightly different twist.

So, if you loved previous stories and just want the exact same, just with the anti-hero/protagonist acting even more stupidly, getting unrealistically bailed out by women he exploits, and displaying zero growth as a character, then this book will make you blissfully happy.

So, I really like this series. At first the concept sounded downright silly, but after the good reviews and lacking any new additions from my cadre of known authors I took the plunge. I'm very pleased that I took a chance knnthus series. Good characters, nice pacing, and interesting analogies and references to modern life. Well worth the credits for the series thus far, and can't wait for the next!

I enjoyed the story, though I'm not a fan of cliff hangers. It's light listening, with the author demanding the reader to press the "I believe" button more than I care to do in a genre rife with scientific underpinnings - it seems a little lazy. Good enough character development to make you care and enough twists to keep me listening. I can say I will almost certainly listen to the next book to see where it goes.

Despite some odd chapter transitions, if you liked the other books you'll enjoy this one. I can honestly say I'll get the next one too. Good fun.
