Our ancestors crossed deserts, mountains, and oceans without even a whisper of what anyone today might consider modern technology. Those feats of endurance now seem impossible in an age where we take comfort for granted. But what if we could regain some of our lost evolutionary strength by simulating the environmental conditions of our forbears? Investigative journalist and anthropologist Scott Carney takes up the challenge to find out: Can we hack our bodies and use the environment to stimulate our inner biology?

Cryptocurrency and its disruptive architecture, Blockchain, is now making the biggest revolution in the finance sector for the last 100 years. There is a lot of hype surrounding the concept of the blockchain, but what does this term actually mean? What is Blockchain technology? Why does it matter? These questions are not always answered with due diligence in the sea of headlines that deal with digital currencies using blockchains.

Great introduction into blockchain without delving too much into the technicalities of it. The audio book was very brief, I listened through it on a subway ride home. None of the material is particularly new or something you can't find on the internet, but it is presented in an easy to understand manner.

This adventure in science and imagination, which the Medical Tribune said might herald "a Copernican revolution for the life sciences", leads the listener through unexplored jungles and uncharted aspects of mind to the heart of knowledge. In a first-person narrative of scientific discovery that opens new perspectives on biology, anthropology, and the limits of rationalism, The Cosmic Serpent reveals how startlingly different the world around us appears when we open our minds to it.

Many times in the modern age man is led to believe his society's common knowledge as absolute truth. This book shows the alternative view of the universe, and of ourselves, through the eyes of the shamans. Provided is evidence linking ancient knowledge to modern day science. As unbelievable as it sounds, many parallels exist, which are logically and scientifically accounted for in Narby's book. I would definitely recommend this book to challenge yourself to see just how open your mind is to alternative world views. In the process you might find some reconciliation between the two.

The Bhagavad Gita, "The Song of the Lord", is the best known of all the Indian scriptures, and Easwaran's reliable and accessible version has consistently been the best-selling translation. Easwaran's introduction places the Gita in its historical setting and brings out the universality and timelessness of its teachings. Chapter introductions give clear explanations of key concepts in that chapter.

The work of the Bhagavad Gita is a major cultural and religious contribution from India. The story and ideas behind it are sometimes seemingly out of reach for those unfamiliar with Hindu culture and religion. Luckily for us this eBook is available, with a unabridged narration and discussion of the work. Background information and elaborations on key concepts are always given before the start of each chapter in the first half. The eBook is broken up into chapters that have the commentary before the reading and later, into strictly verses of the Bhagavad Gita. As one who is very new to Hindu religion and culture, this eBook has provided me with deep insight not only into the Hindu religion but also into my own spirituality as well.

Present moment awareness is an essential ingredient in life if one expects to experience any degree of authentic peace and contentment. It has been acknowledged for centuries as the cornerstone of spiritual awakening in all traditions of Eastern thought. In the West, however, it is still a relatively unrecognized concept for living. The Western mind is always restless, never content with the moment.
